Idrial watched him as she sat there with her chin on her fists. She bit her lip as she thought, attempting to remember some sort of game that they could play. "Well, as for a price...I have no money. So I suppose it would be rather difficult to set one." She cast her eyes to the table watching curiously as he laid the deck between them. "But as for a game...I know plenty. Which ones do you know how to play, then maybe I can choose."

Vilik grinned, "I assure you I can play any game you choose. Perhaps you would like to play a few hands of poker?" He pushed the deck towards her, waiting for an answer.

Idrial bit her lip as she looked down toward the cards. Glancing up, she offered a sheepish grin. "I actually do not know much about that particular game...but perhaps you could teach me." Her brown eyes watched him for a moment before turning back to the table and the deck that was placed before her.

Vilik smiled, "Well then, we'll have to play a few practice rounds." He took the deck and dealt them each five cards. After looking through and sorting his hand he looked back to Idrial. "What do you have in your hand?"

Idrial glanced up at him and grinned, giving a slight nod. "Yes, I suppose we will." After he dealt the cards, she looked hers over, waiting until Vilik raised his eyes to her before she spoke again. "I have a five of hearts, a king of spades, an ace of spades, a three of diamonds, and a six of clubs." The woman raised a brow as she waited for him to tell her what to do next.

Vilik looked down at his cards. He had the four of spades and the four of hearts, the ace of diamonds, and the seven and two of clubs. He looked up at Idrial, "You have an ace, so you can draw discard four if you want, but, since you have the king I would just toss the others and draw three." Without waiting for an answer he slid the three, five, and six out of her hand and dealt her three more cards. He then discarded two of his own cards, keeping the pair of fours and the ace and dealt himself two more cards off the top. He looked at his new cards, the queen of spades and the jack of hearts, then glanced back to Idrial. "So, how'd you do? Lets see your hand."

Idrial listened closely as Vilik explained to her her cards. She loosened her grip upon them as he slid a few from her graps and slid her three new ones. After looking at them for a moment, she laid her hand down on the table. This revealed of course the King and Ace of spades, but also the Jack of clubs, the five of spades, and the nine of hearts. Raising a brow, she glanced toward Vilik. "I do not understand this game," she said with a somewhat sheepish grin.

Vilik laid down his hand and shook his head. "Well, my pair of fours beats your ace high. Its not all that complicated... pair beats a high card, three of a kind beats a pair, two pair beats three of a kind, a straight beats two pair, a flush beats a straight, full house beats a flush, four of a kind beats a full house and a straight flush beats four of a kind. Got it?" He asked after rambling quickly through all the hands. He laughed as he saw what seemed to be confusion on her face. "You'll get the hang of it after a few handss....., of course, you'll have to start betting now. You only get one freebie."

Idrial's head nearly spun at Vilik's quick rattling off of the game rules. She raised a brow in mock offense as he laughed, and she leaned back slightly in her chair. This game was confusing. As he spoke of betting, Idrial glanced downward toward her old cards and the tabletop. "I...I have no money to bet with." She finally said. "I don't think you'll find me a very enjoyable opponent if you're winning back your own money."

Vilike smirked, "Well, you'll just have to be creative with your betting. There are plenty of chores on the boat that need doing, feel free to use them as 'currency'." He gathered the cards up and began shuffling the deck again. As he began dealing out the next round of cards he looked up to her, raising an eyebrow. "Of course, m'lady, if there is some other vice we could occupy ourselves with, I'm open to suggestions."

Idrial's brow furrowed, and she placed a small pout on her face as Vilik made his suggestion. "Chores?" She laughed slightly, "I think I would rather lose money...if I had it to lose." She folded her arms, watching as he picked up the cards and shuffled them. At his next suggestion, her brow furrowed again, this time in contemplation. "I can think of no other game that would occupy enough time...but if we are to continue, I do believe I am going to take a short break." Idrial slid out of her seat. "I'll be above deck," she stated, "you can deal the cards or come if you want." Then she shrugged and disappeared from the room. Once she was above deck she took in a deep breath of the air. It smelled so fresh out on the sea. Quickly she meandered her way toward the railing and leaned lightly upon it.

Vilik acted for a moment as if he had no interest in going above and countinued shuffling the cards. Once Idrial had walked up the steps he stood and followed. He watched with a smile as she leaned against the railing, the wind blowing hard through her hair. He walked slowly up behind her and slipped his arms around her waist. "If you're not carefull you'll begin to enjoy life on the open sea. Who knows, a pirate's lifestyle might even start looking good to you."

Idrial's thoughts had been elsewhere, and she had not heard Vilik approach from behind. She smiled as he made his presence known and put his arms about her. The maiden leaned back against him, continuing to look out across the water. "Well," she said slyly, "if all pirates are like you...I should think that a life of piracy would be a good and interesting one." Idrial tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and rested her head back against his shoulder.

Vilik smiled and held her a little tighter as she leaned back against him. He laughed as she made her comment and retorted, "Well, I'm sorry to dissapoint you, m'lady, but I've always liked to think of my self as 'one of a kind' among pirates." He rested his head close to her's and added, "I'll try to make things as intresting for you and I can though."

Idrial laughed. "Oh, is that so?" She placed her arms over the top of his as he held her tighter. "Well, at least I've been lucky enough to stumble upon a pirate such as you." She grinned and glanced back up at him for a moment. "I suppose that is quite a good side to my tendencies toward accidents."
