"I would appreciate it." E'vesash responded with a content smile as she leaned against him. She rested her head on his shoulder and against his neck, closing her eyes and enjoying the coolness and calmness of the evening. Right now everything was perfect. Her arms were draped about his neck, her fingers laced together on the other side. "I love you." She murmured.

Legolas smiled, kissing her head as he whispered to her, "I love you too..." It was such a simple sentence, and yet perhaps the most powerful words spoken between them... Love...such a small thing, but given so dearly, it meant more to him to have her love than any treasure trove of Middle-Earth could hold.

The hum of the evening creatures stirring could finally be heard as the sun dipped ever lower on the horizon. E'vesash smile at Legolas' words, knowing that he meant them with all his heart. Surely one was not to be allowed such happiness. But Evy had it anyway, and would not trade this sleepy position for any other in the world. Without speaking, she leaned back to look at him, once more making sure that this was no dream. She smiled to him as her emerald eyes locked with his.

Legolas smiled, setting a kiss on her lips as he spoke. "It's all ours Evy... Forever we shall remain one...till the sun and stars vanish or all the world is in destruction around us... I will not leave you, nor forsake you..."
Legolas watched her eyes flicker, a reflection of a time past that he had known long ago under the trees he so loved, with her beside him...

Evy nodded. "And for that I am eternally greatful." She reached out to touch his face, laughing softly. "Do you remember the first time we met, love?" Her emerald eyes watched his face as her own danced with amusement. "You challenged me to a contest in target shooting. And you let me win." She hit his arm playfully.

Legolas laughed, recalling the event. His eyes danced in delight at the recollection as he went into a brief description of the circumstances. "I believe I was out in the woods hunting that morning. I had went far out of my way as I tracked the prey, and upon drawing my bow to shoot at the animal, my eyes came to rest on you...as you stood alone. Fate smiled upon us that day...and I could not deny the fact that I was entranced by you... As for letting you win at the shooting match, what would you have done if I had won?"

E'vesash nodded with a wide smile as she recalled the events well. "Nay, I was not alone. Azen' was with me." A soft melodious laugh escaped her lips as her emerald eyes sparkled. "But what would I have done? Probably nothing." She stated simply. "I would have known that I was honestly beaten...as I know I would be in a fair contest with you." She kissed him gently. "But I do not mind."

Legolas sat back thoughtfully. "Well then...perhaps I should have taken the oppurtunity to win our contest? After all, we would still be in the same place as today, only I'd have the satisfaction of knowing I won..."

E'vesash smiled. "Then have it. You know you would have won anyway." She leaned her head against him once more, enjoying the serenity of the evening. She watched as a few fireflies floated around the garden, casting the glowing lights over the plants like sparkles. It truly was a beautiful scene.

Legolas smiled, holding her slender form in his arms as he let out a sigh. "No...I would much rather have you beat me in all, so long as you give me the pleasure of walking you home..."

E'vesash looked up at him and nodded with a smile. "Alright...I suppose that could be arranged." She glanced in the direction they would be going, but did not yet move. She was comfortable enough that she did not want to stir until she had to. "After you..." She whispered to Legolas.

Legolas smiled, taking her by the hand, Legolas and Evy made their way down the stone walks of the city, until they came at last to a secluded and quiet area of the city. (I'll start their home under a new thread.)
