Legolas laughed, smiling down at E'vesash, her beauty fully illuminated now in the light, pure and unhindered from where they stood. He felt her hand, gently come to rest upon his shoulder, and he slowly tipped his head, easily kissing it, before lifting his hand to hold hers.
"I shall try as surely as might be possible, but...it's rather difficult in the presence of the most beautiful lady in Middle-Earth," he said with a smile.

E'vesash laughed once more and cocked her head slightly. "Now, do not make me to be vain." She felt his hand against hers, and she looked down momentarily to find them clasped together. Then she turned her gaze once more out across the landscape. "'Tis such a beautiful night. I feel as though I can stand here forever and not grow weary."

Legolas laughed quietly, watching her gaze directed away.
"Perhaps, but even though weariness would not overtake us...we would simply go on...without ever having married," he said with a smile.
"I do not know whether I would be able to stand such a punishment."

Evesash smiled and nodded in agreeance. "Tis the truth that you speak. Though it is still a lovely night indeed." A soft breeze blew up from below, cooling her face with the gentle night air as she allowed her gaze to lock with Legolas'.

Legolas smiled, feeling the sensation of her eyes firmly locking with his.
"And I am overjoyed to share it with you E'vesash...here...together..."

E'vesash smiled and bowed her head slightly. "Thank you. And I the same." She leaned lightly against his side and turned to look out over the wall. After a few minutes longer she glanced upward toward the moon. "As much as I hate to say it...the night is growing later and later."

Legolas nodded silently, putting his arm around E'vesash, holding her in his warm embrace.
"But each night will bring us closer Evy, even though we shall part swiftly, we will be united soon..."

E'vesash nodded slowly, glancing up at him. "And I shall always look to that day." She folded her arms, turning her gaze back outward as many thoughts went through her mind. A peaceful silence had befallen the city.

As they stood looking out across the great city, they could see the lone banner of the king, flying against the wind in its path, flapping against the great rock fortress upon which it stood.
"Is it not truly marvelous Evy? This place, where none can reach out to disturb the strength here, and where the might of men is once again seen in bloom. Our kin our a dwindling folk, but here...here it seems that men have found a beauty amongst the wars of this land. I once thought them a stubborn, arrogant people, those suceptible to sickness and death, but now...after having seen their true valor, and shared in their trials, they have become my brothers...my people..."

E'vesash nodded, though a bit more hesitantly this time. "Yes, many men have proved their honor many times over." She followed his gaze to the banner of the king. "This place is a strong place...and place that will always remain strong. You speak wisely."

Legolas gave her a queer look at the mention of wise. "Wise? I fail to see anything wise in the observation. 'Twas just a thought, but I must confess...I do envy the days of old...when it was our kind who were observed in all their glory and radiance. Now we must be content to behold men, king over this land. Our time is passing..."

E'vesash flushed slightly with embarassment as he corrected her statements...or rather, objected to them. "Indeed, you are right..." she said simply, turning to lean against the wall, averting her gaze to the land below. Far below. She welcomed the cool breeze as it blew up to her and swept a few strands of hair from her face.

Legolas watched E'vesash relax, and felt a slight breeze sweeping across the height upon which they stood. It gave Legolas a sense of power here, to see what he wished, and command the view as desired.
Legolas slowly turned his view back to Evy, recollecting a thought that had first visited him earlier that night.
"Evy...I cannot help but be curious to know, what took place during the time that seperated us..."

E'vesash was slightly startled and flustered by this new question. T'would require such a long answer. She cast her gaze to the stone ground as she thougth over her own words for a moment, trying to place them in order. "Oh, not all that much I suppose." She hoped her tone was convincing... at least convincing enough.

Legolas watched her in silence, feeling a sense of aprehension at the question on her part, letting it go at that. He had always felt a dread about the circumstances leading to their seperation, but perhaps it was better left in the dark...
