Idrial nodded. "You are welcome." She forced a smile onto her features as he took her hand, but her gaze turned downward toward the deck. "I am so sorry." She whispered. "This is all my fault. You shouldn't have gone after him." She glanced toward the wound at his side, knowing that it was just as much her fault as the one she'd given him earlier. "I can do nothing but hurt you..." She whispered, her voice wavering.

Vilik shifted and straightened himself some more. The looked down at his side, "You did a good job with the stitching. It will heal." He laughed again and was promptly rewarded with a sharp pain in his side, though no more bloody cough. "Hador can't say the same, no amount of stitching will put his head back on." He turned his head and looked Idrial in the eyes. "You no longer need to watch your back everwhere you go. Its done." He took a deep breath and pulled himself to his feet, promptly leaning back against the cabin wall when he was up. "With your help, I think I can make it below."

Idrial was quickly beside him as he rose, supporting his form as they headed below deck...slowly. She eased him gently onto the bed, worry filling her eyes as she tried to be ever so careful. "Is there anything I can do?" She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear with an unbloody finger, then quickly moved to the wash basin and rinsed her hands off. Just as quickly she was back at Vilik's side. Idrial placed a hand gently upon his arm.

Vilik laid down on the bed gladly letting his head fall back into the soft pillow. He watched Idrial through half closed eyes and when she returned he reached for her. "Just stay here for a while..." His body ached an his head felt like it was split in two. Once he saw that she was by his side again he let himself drift back into an unconsious sleep.

Idrial grasped his hand lightly in hers and reached out to gently smooth the hair back from his forehead. She watched with a worried expression as he drifted back into slumber. "I love you." She murmured, suddenly realizing it fully...though she wasn't sure if he'd heard her or not. Idrial knelt beside the bed for a while longer, before she laid her head down on it next to him. Still holding onto his hand, she fell asleep just as she was.

Vilik awoke sometime the next morning a bit groggy and having a hard time remembering the previous evening. He sat up and immeadiately the wound at his side began to throb. He shook his head as he looked down at the bloodsoaked bed sheets. Beside him Idrial was still asleep and he tried not to wake her as he fumbled with the bandages so he might examine his wound.

Idrial slept on for a few more moments, but began to stir shortly after Vilik did. At first it did not register in her mind why she was sleeping on the floor with merely her head on the bed, but as she looked up it came back to her. Quickly, she rose from her position and brushed her hair back from her face. "I'm sorry," she said. "I shouldn't have fallen asleep. I should have been helping you," Idrial looked down at the sheets, noting the mess of blood. "I'll wash those in a short while."

Vilik looked skeptically at the linens, "Good luck with that....., whats left of them may make good bandages though." He ran his fingers over the stitching Idrial had done the night before and took notice that the blood was now dried. "Seems you were helping. Your stitching is probably all that kept me from bleeding to death." He sat up and with a little effort managed to make his way to the edge of the bed. He rested for a second before rising to his feet. "I'd better wash up,"

Idrial was immediatly at his side as he rose from the bed, her brown eyes watching his every move carefully. "Would you care for help...or do you think you can manage on your own?" She rested a hand lightly upon his arm incase he suddenly decided that he couldn't make it. Idrial bit her lower lip as she waited for his reaction, as she did not want him to hurt himself.

He smiled, "Thanks, how about giving me a hand above deck." With her help he made his way above deck and then leaned against the side of the boat. He pulled his blood soaked shirt off and kicked his boots off before turning and hopping into the cool water below. The salt water burned the gash at his side, but Vilik ignored it best he could, knowin the salt water would do the wound some good. He treaded water for a moment then looked back up to the deck and called out to Idrial, "Got any soap up there?"

Idrial was slightly surprised that he simply hopped into the water, but nodded at his request. "I think I saw some..." She disappeared from view for a few moments as she went below to search for it. Finally, Idrial found a bar and went back to the edge, tossing it down to Vilik. "There you go," she said, "if you need help getting back on, just call. I'll be below." And with that, the maiden went back down to the cabin. Quickly, she changed into a new outfit...one without tears and bloodstains. Idrial combed her fingers through her hair before sitting down on the edge of the bed. Briefly, she rested her face in her hands, blinking back tears before she composed herself and rose to toss the ruined clothes into a bottom drawer to be discarded later.

Vilik caught the soap and went to cleaning the dried blood from all over him. After a good lather he ducked under to rinse the soap. He swam slowly to the dock where there was a ladder he could climb out on. He made his way up, stopping halfway, out of breath and started wishing he'd not jumped down so quickly. He rested a few minutes then scaled the ladder to the top. He laid down on the dock and let himself dry in the sun before making his way down below again. He found Idrial in the cabin in clean clothes and he reached in a drawer for a clean shirt and pulled it on over his head. He smiled at her and disguised the pain he was in as best he could. "Sorry I wen't and bled over everything.." he said jokingly.

Idrial glanced up quickly as he entered the room. She had been just about to go back up to see if he'd needed any help. Apparantly, he didn't. At his comment she glanced back toward the sheets, and toward the drawer into which she'd just stuffed a bloody garment. "It's fine," Idrial said solemnly as she pushed her hair back over her shoulders and went back about cleaning up the cabin. At least it was something that kept her attention.

Vilik pulled the bloody sheet off the bed and tossed it into corner. He watched as Idrial kept busy with straightening things. He stepped behind her and put his hands on her shoulders. "I think the cleaning can wait, Idrial. You must be tired yourself."

Idrial froze in her position as she felt his hands upon her shoulders. She cast her gaze to the ground as she thought how to respond. With a slow shake of her head, Idrial eased herself away from him and began to wipe up the top of the dresser. "Nay," she said softly, "I am fine." She continued about her tasks again, attacking them as though they'd done her some wrong.
