Garland looked at his servant and listened to the news he brought. The revelation of Enedwaith and Angmar's new found friendship with Gondor was a bit disturbing, and also the fact that the free peoples trust was so easily gained by Morsereg and Ilmare when his servant Marcellus had such a time convincing them of his intentions. He looked at Marcellus and spoke, "For now let us play along in this debacle, take your men and go to Aragorn's side. I will send word for your brother's return. I fear things have gotten out of hand and our well thought through plans have crumbled. It seems Arnor's fall is no longer even a thought to our friends, only this vengence upon Megloren. What good will it do when the Witch of Isengard falls only to be replaced by Aragorn of Gondor." Garland motioned 'Lord Garland' to go and make ready his troops. He then sent a messenger to Minos, beckoning his return. He feared now that all hopes of conquering were lost, now he imagined it would only be a matter of time before the armies of good marched upon his own realm. At least he would have the dignity to fall like a warrior, and not go kneeling to the King of Gondor seeking his aid. Garland shook his head, what madness was overcomming his allies.

Minos entered the throne room and bowed before Garland. "I have returned, along with the entire host, as you requested."

Garland smiled, "Rise, Minos. You must wonder why you were called home so soon. I am afaid the attack on Arnor has been called off, I know how dissapointed you must be. As of now your brother is in Isengard, helping the King of Gondor defeat our ally. This part disturbs me little, as with that witch's manipulation of people's minds she grows to powerfull. The news that is truly disturbing is that of our friends Morsereg's and Ilmare's sudden alliance with Gondor. Openly they have gone to him and sought partnership in this endeavor to take down Megloren.... a task that could have easily been accomplished by just our three reams, .... after the fall of Arnor. This change is very confussing, Minos, I fear I do not know where our allies' loyalties lie."

Gurherdir the wolf entered the throne room and bowed a little wolfish bow to the Lord of Moria. "I hear that you, Garland of Moria are an accomplished wielder of magic. I was wondering, would you be able to give me the form of a human so that I could infiltrate this Trial of Lords in Gondor. I am a humble servant of the great Melkor intent on creating chaos to the enemies of my master. I'm sure that upon the escape of my master from his captors, you would be greatly rewarded."

Garland looked at the wolf, quite amussed as he had yet to ever talk to a wolf. "I can do as you ask, but to change your form from wolf to human will be a bit tricky. To do this, I need a man to transform you into." Garland smiled, "So, go and kill yourself a man and bing his body here. Do not let the blood run cold though."

"I shall, and I shall return here soon. Peasants should suffice I would think." The wolf turned and left the chamber.
One day later, Gurherdir returned, hauling a body behind him. He bowed once more to the King of Moria. "I travel fast," he said and then pointed to the body. "Some sort of a village hero who thought he could defeat me. Will this one suffice?"

Garland stood and walked to the body, dipping his finger into one of the wounds. "This will do nicely. You chose well, as your power and that of this man will now combine." Garland had two servants spread the mans body out on the floor, he then instructed the wolf as where to stand. Once every thing was in place Garland started chanting spells in elvish. His eyes closed to slits, seeming to glow red as he continued chanting. He stretched his hand towards Gurherdir as waves of black and red energy engulfed him like the tongues of a flame. Garland then finished the chant wiith a forcefull word, sending the energy which engulfed him flying towards the wolf and man. Slowly the energy overtook the pair, and Gurherdir began his transformation. Garland smirked, "The pain is only temporary my friend." Garland then stepped back and sat on his throne, watching the final moments of the transformation.

Gurherdir emerged as the man. "It astounds me as to how these beings can live in something as weak as this. However, I need fingers and hands for what I'm planning. Tell me King Garland, when is it that I will return to my original form?"

Garland answered. "The enchantment will not wear off my friend, it is much stronger than a normal spell of disquise. When you wish to return to your formal self you must return here and I will reverse the spell."

"Ah, perfect." Gurherdir bowed once more to the King of Moria. "You have the eternal gratitude of Morgoth who is called Melkor and his humble servant, Gurherdir." Gurherdir left the throne room and traveled back to Minas Tirith (unless you had anything else you wanted to add, in which case, you're welcome to add it. Just stop him before he leaves the throne room.)

Garland nodded as Gurherdir left, but spoke up just before he rounded the corner. "I'm sure I don't have to tell you to keep this encounter just between the two of us. And also to keep tight lips about my presence here.... And fair thee well in the trials - don't play fair." Garland laughed and watched then as Gurherdir departed.

Ilmare walked into the Chamber and looked at Garland. "I know, I know, I did it and aided the wrong side. But if you don't mind, let us forget that and listen to me, please. Mithlond is taken by Murazor Bauglir. There is not much defence, just his realm. Let us strike now and take it for our own. My army is already on its way." She waved for her servants. "I brought you flaggs of Enedwaith to cover your forces under my banner."

Garland stood. "The son of Morgoth strikes against Mithlond? My 'source' has told me this Murazor claimed not to walk the paths of his father." Garland paced around thinking. "Perhaps some good will come of your hasty flight to Gondor yet. You are now in the good graces of Aragorn, as is my servant, Marcellous.....of course, you might know him better as Lord Garland." Garland smirked as he thought things through. "I will send the bulk of my forces to Mithlond immeadiately, they will ride under the banenr of Enedwaith. Minos will accompany you, if anyone is to ask, he is merely a servant of Enedwaith. I will also send Marcellous under Moria's banner to the 'aid' of Mithlond. This fools attack is just the opportunity I have waited for. An act of aggression by a ruller of a realm of light. We will take Mithlond, and look as heros when we do so. Perhaps even have Gondor to aid us." Garland smiled, things were once again looking bright for the future of Moria.

Ilmare grinned whide. "That sounds like a perfect plan, my Lord. " She laughed. Indeed, that was going to be a perfect plan.

Garland replied. "Very well then. We move now." Garland looked to Minos who had been standing silently at his side and nodded to him, beckoning him to carry out the plan.
