Alatariel glanced up at him quickly as he murmured Evy's name. "Yes?" She asked, trying to keep the waver from her voice as they neared the dwelling. She folded her arms loosely, turning her gaze from Legolas to look up at the fast darkening sky. Nervousness had begun to creep into her as she feared Legolas was catching on to her facade.

Legolas glanced down at her anxiously. Something was terribly wrong. What it was, he could not say, but the presence he felt was far from that he had last encountered earlier that day.
"Evy, who am I?"

Alatariel raised a brow in confusion and disbelief. This was hardly the sort of question she had expected. She had expected him to be onto her, but this....this question was simple. It was definitely one she could answer. "What do you mean, m'love?" She asked with a smile. "You are Legolas...my husband."

Legolas watched her in silence for a long while. Their walk was slow and without any disturbance until Legolas asked yet another question.
"Is that what I am? Indeed...and who are you Evy?"

At the entrance of the city, Dorfanen and E'vesash were stopped by the guards, but with E'vesash's persuasion they were allowed to enter. So they began the climb up the winding stairs and so came after a short time to the level of Legolas and E'vesash's abode.
Dorfanen slowly lowered E'vesash down to the ground and dismounted himself. As he turned to face the direction of their dwelling, his eyes caught sight of what he should have feared most. Alatariel, the dark queen, was here... What was he to do now?

E'vesash looked around after Dorfanen had lowered her to the ground, and quickly her eyes found Legolas up ahead...with someone else. A woman. When Evy got a closer look, she realized that the maiden looked exactly the same as she. She placed her hand over her mouth to stifle a gasp. So, Dorfanen had been telling the truth. Her sister was alive...not dead. "Legolas!" She cried, rushing forward and immediatly regretting the action as it caused her head to spin.

Legolas turned about slowly, to find...E'vesash? Yes, E'vesash rushing towards him. She cried out his name and then seemed to fall. Legolas' reaction was naturally to rush forward and catch her, which he did. However, after preparing to utter a sigh of relief, all he could do was gasp.
His face turned around, bringing itself to view the figure of...E'vesash? She clung to him now, and yet watched him from a ways off. Legolas carefully pushed the maiden who clung to him away and began turning from side to side, moaning as he tried to will away this nightmare...
"Something with me is not right...something tears at me..."

"Legolas," E'vesash whimpered as he pushed her away, "that is my sister, Alatariel." Her voice held bitterness in it as she looked over at her sister. Realization suddenly settled over her at the fact of what her sister had done. "Look," She pulled the emerald jewel from about her neck and placed it in Legolas' hand, "believe me." Her form trembled from confusion at the situation and from her dizziness as she awaited her husband's reaction.

Legolas held his gaze upon the maiden who tugged at his arm, shoving a small gem into his hand. "Alatariel? What...what has happened?"
Legolas glanced back and forth between each woman, trying to make sense of it all.

Alatariel watched the scene with little interest. Her position had been found out, and so her plan was ended. Before she turned and fled, however, she spoke a few parting words. "What has happened, is that you have been fooled. Cleverly fooled. But the fool is you, for you cannot even recognize your own wife." She motioned to Evy with a wave of her hand before she slipped from the scene and into the night, leaving the others to do what they would.

Legolas watched the woman depart without uttering a word. His gaze slowly turned back to E'vesash as he attempted to speak, but knew not what to say.
"E'vesash...If you are E'vesash...what has happened here?"

Dorfanen watched as Alatariel took off through the narrow streets, leaving the fair elf maiden and the warrior. He hated it...hated it with a passion... The queen of Mordor would pay... She knew this would happen...she must have! She would pay...pay or else.
Without a word, Dorfanen mounted and left, speeding out of the white city.

E'vesash watched as her sister spoke and then disappeared into the night. Her words were not true...Legolas was no fool. "I..." she began softly, "when you went to fetch the Lord Evinyatar, I was taken from our home. My sister, Alatariel, apparantly had some plot to gain information by taking my place." She glanced back toward Dorfanen and motioned to him with a nod. "He brought me back to you," she told Legolas with a weary smile.

Legolas stumbled back, leaning against the wall of the street for support. His head was swimming by now...swimming with countless thoughts... He glanced up towards his wife...or apparently his wife, had gestured. A man, tall and muscular began riding off without a word.
His eyes turned down to the woman that knelt beside him. In his hand he could still feel the cold metal from a gem...clasped to a pendant that hung from a small chain.
"Evy..."

E'vesash listened as Legolas softly whispered her name. Tears welled in her eyes and she cast her gaze downward for a moment, in attempt to collect herself. Finally, she rose and moved to him, longing for his embrace after all they'd been through. "Legolas..." she murmured, but was unable to say more, for her voice wavered and a few tears spilled onto her cheeks.
