Legolas led Evy into the long hall that led to the sitting area. It was decorated with fine linens and beautiful works of the Gondorians. Each piece was unique and hand crafted by the finest workers of city.
In the center of the room, several couches were arranged over a thick rug of green and blue. The room was lit by several candles and at the left end of the room, a fire, crackling quietly.
Legolas looked at Evy, attempting to read some sign of her thoughts. "Well Evy...how is it?"

E'vesash placed her hand in the crook of his arm as she was led into the room, and her emerald eyes could hardly take it all in. "Oh, Legolas, it is beautiful! I could not ask for a finer place." She let go of him and moved about the room on her own, briefly touching different pieces of furniture and art as she came upon them.

At the end of the room, a balcony overlooked the city, giving aa view of the land about them. Legolas slowly made his way to this area, watching Evy eventually coming to the same place also. He stood there, gazing out over the city, watching the stars twinkling overhead. "It is a beautiful place here is it not? Such peace in this city...lacking in almost nothing..."

E'vesash nodded. "It is beautiful," she replied softly. "Close to the most beautiful place in the city." She wrapped one arm about his and drew herself near to him as she followed his gaze out across the land. "Thank you so much." She whispered to him. "For everything. I could ask for nothing more...I have more than I ever dreamed of having. Most of all my marriage to you."

Legolas smiled, still gazing out over the city, but bringing his full attention to her. What she spoke was what he desired most of all to hear... To know that she was happy was worth more to him than anything. "I am glad Evy...so very glad. For you have given me everything... I could ask for nothing more... Nothing other than you do I require to live..."

Evy laughed, "Well, I do suppose you require more than that to survive." She walked back inside, eager to explore the rest of the place. As she did, she noted that each room was as beautiful, if not more so, than the last. She could not be happier anywhere, for right now her heart was content. She was content. If nothing ever changed she would be happy.

Legolas smiled, coming into the sitting room, he sat down slowly on a soft couch, watching Evy from the dim light of the candles. He said nothing, made no move, but sat...watching her in contentment.

E'vesash's head was nearly spinning by the time she had surveyed the last room. She felt as though she were in a dream. Maybe she was, in fact. But no, it could not be. She wandered back into the sitting room, looking around for a bit longer before she finally noticed Legolas watching her once more. "I could stay here forever." She said with a laugh, before glancing out the window. Then a thoughtful expression came onto her features. "I wish my family could see all of this." She said softly.

Legolas watched her as she spoke. He knew how much she missed her family...missed being with them. He could understand how she felt. He too had no one left...no one but her. And yet he did not feel the same anguish as she at this. Perhaps there was something in a woman, some bond between her and her family that was inseperable. He was glad that it was not so painful for him... It was something that he would not desire to feel...
"I'm sorry Evy... I know how much they mean to you...and yet, perhaps they watch us... Those who go across the sea. Perhaps their eyes are always upon us, gazing down at us from the stars... I cannot help but wonder what it's like...the land of peace where all is good and calm..."

E'vesash shook her head and put a smile upon her face. "No, do not be sorry for me. I have more happiness now that anyone should be allowed. I would not change anything just to have them back. I am sure they would not want to come back anyway." She added with a laugh as she pushed her hair back over her shoulders. Surely it was the truth...nothing would every bring her family back, so she might as well stop thinking about it and causing herself pain. Especially at such a happy time.

Legolas nodded. "It grieves me to see our people leave. They came here at a cost, and now, when things grow most difficult, they abandon us. I know not what must be done... If only they had never come... Never desired to leave their land, then we would not be in such a position as we are in now... Laid in a land of death and woe.."

E'vesash understood his words, and agreed with them. But she forced herself to lighten the situation. She did not truly wish to think of it..it pained her too much. "Yes, but I would not trade this place now with you for any other place in this world or another alone." She smiled down at him from the position where she stood. Of course her words were true. She spoke them from the bottom of her heart.

Legolas stood up, walking to her, putting his arms around her. Her soft eyes were so beautiful...so lovely...a reflection of her heart. "Nor would I... I could be in the dungeons of Mordor and not care, if I only had you with me..."

E'vesash laughed, comforted by his embrace. "I am not sure we should go as far as Mordor. I think niether of us would enjoy that overmuch no matter what company we were in." She looked about her. "Though I would say this is a far step up from Mordor."

Legolas laughed along with her. "No...no this will suffice, though Mordor might be something interesting... Maybe for our 100th anniversary we could work out something for Mordor..." Legolas smirked, enjoying being able to tease her without having to watch out for a slap to his face.
