E'vesash smiled, so grateful for the concern he showed for her welfare. "I desire to be amongst nature...and that is what you have promised me. I can ask for no more." She tilted her head slightly, watching him. For a brief moment her mind wandered to Rivendell...but that could wait for another time. It was not where she needed to be for the moment. Mayhap it was not even where she wanted to be, for that would mean she'd have to face the sorrows and troubles of her past. Right now she longed only for joy.

Legolas smiled, running his hand through her long hair, soft and brilliant in its dark folds, falling down over her shoulders. He felt gratitude to her, knowing that, no doubt, she would certainly rather be elsewhere, and yet she would follow him, no matter where he went.
"Then we will leave for Ithilien, and be happy there."

"Indeed we will." E'vesash whispered as she smiled, feeling his hand as it mingled with her hair. She draped her arms about his neck, content simply to be secure in his embrace. She felt as if none of the world could harm her when she was there.

Legolas smiled, gazing out over the plains as they stood, their figure, dim in the sun's last light. The activity of the city had died down, and they stood there, alone, caring for nothing but each other.
"To think Evy, that we might have never seen each other again... and we would have gone on, living apart..."

"Indeed," E'vesash finally responded, "do not speak of it...for 'tis a sad tale." She then laughed slightly, shaking her head as she followed Legolas' gaze out across the plains, finding humor in the irony of their meeting.

Legolas shook his head, as if recalling the slight circumstances that had led him here in the first place.
"One more day,...and I would have been gone from here. One day... one day would have seperated us for eternity."

E'vesash placed her fingers lightly upon his lips, her emerald eyes gazing deep into his own. "Shh...speak no more of it." She smiled and cocked her head slightly to the side. "Besides, it seems that fate so wants us together that had we not met here we would have met in some other place."

Legolas nodded, feeling her soft touch upon his lips, forbidding his speech.
"Fate has indeed brought our paths here, for some greater purpose. I know not what, but I deem that soon it shall become known to us...both."

E'vesash smiled, removing her fingers from his lips and placing her hand gently against the side of his face as she continued to watch him. "For whatever purpose it is, I am glad fate made the decision it did."

"Indeed, or else I would be alone, as you would perhaps...once more..."

"Yes," E'vesash nodded, "but thankfully niether of us are alone now." She smiled her emerald green eyes locked with his, never breaking that bond if even for a second.

Legolas watched her, his blue eyes flickering in the light of the torches, now lit along the walls of the city, signalling the coming of the night watch.
"I had thought, many times before, that I had seen you, walking near me, silent, saying nothing, a form in shadow and yet a light penetrating my soul. Perhaps it was nothing but a trick of the eye, but I still saw you there, when I was in the darkest place comprehendable, there you walked, beside me..."

E'vesash watched him intently, many new thoughts now swirling inside her mind. "Then our bond was never truly broken. For in spirit we were together...even though we were apart." As she listened to Legolas, a shadow grew in the back of her mind. She willed it away, but it persisted. There was a brief pain in her head, and she pressed her fingers lightly against her temples, casting her gaze to the ground. She sensed something...something dark.

Legolas watched E'vesash, as a slight frown appeared on her face, and her hand went to her head, in the likeness of anguish or confusion.
Legolas put his hand on her arm, "Evy...what's wrong? It wasn't...something I said was it?"

E'vesash looked up and smiled. "No, it wasn't you." She paused, wrapping her arms about herself and rubbing her arms with the palms of her hand as she suddenly felt the night's chill. "It was just a headache. It is gone now." She smiled once more and looked out across the landscape...glad that the pain in her head was truly gone.
