E'vesash's eyes welled up with tears as she looked down at the emerald ring set with diamonds. She pushed a strand of hair behind her ear with her right hand and swallowed. "And I you." Her heart beat a bit faster as the kiss was recieved, and she smiled. "Is it not amazing that I find such happiness in a simple visit to the local inn?" She laughed softly through her tears.

Legolas smiled, nodding his head as he watched the tearsw falling slowly down her face.
"Yes. It is not where I first planned to ask for your hand, but that time is gone. I was foolish not to ask for you before... It would have been a blessing to us both I think. We have missed many years together Evy, years that could have been full of joy, happiness and love. Let us enjoy what should have been long ago."

E'vesash reached up and wiped a bit of the wetness from her face, closing her eyes briefly to calm her nerves before she opened them once more. "Yes...let us forget the weary days of the past and think only on the present and the future. For by looking in the past we are facing in the wrong direction." She reached out gently and touched the ring with her opposite hand. It was more beautiful than anything she could have imagined.

Legolas nodded silently, gently resting his hand on hers.
"You speak truly...again. The elves are already preparing to leave for Ithilien, and soon we shall leave. Would it not be better then to leave...married?"

E'vesash nodded slowly. "Yes, t'would be better." There was a pause as she thought for a moment about what she wanted to say. "But why leave at all? Why not stay?" She gripped his hand and looked about her, briefly. "Gondor would keep us...many places would keep us."

Legolas nodded, firmly holding her hand, "Whatever you want, I will consent to. If here you wish to remain, then here we shall stay."

E'vesash lowered her gaze, her brow furrowed. "I do not know what I want...but I do not want you to be unhappy. If you feel we must go...then we must. It is that simple." She smiled slightly and raised her gaze to meet his. She did not want to hinder any of his plans.
(I just had a brain freeze...where is Ithilien?)

(You know where Faramir finds Frodor and Sam, near Mordor? It's across the Anduin, near Osgiliath.)
"But we are in this together Evy. We can decide later. For now, we stay here...at least until we are married, and then, wherever you desire to go, we shal venture on."

E'vesash's smile grew and she nodded. "Alright. I think I can consent to that." She looked down once more at her ring before once more meeting his gaze. Finally she lifted her glass and handed it to a passing waiter. He took it, then disappeared back into the crowd. E'vesash waited for something to be said.

Legolas smiled, nervously. He felt rather...akward, though he couldn't understand why. He still felt completely thrilled that she had accepted him, but it was something gnawing at him, and he was hoping to discover the meaning of his anticipation.
"Yes. Well my love...when shall we be married?"

E'vesash studied her hands for a moment as she tried to think of the proper answer. "Whenever you desire." Is what she finally came up with, not having any idea when she would want a wedding to take place. She was a wanderer...and such had never been her concern before.

Legolas held her gaze for a long time, before uttering any reply to her words.
"This is something you must decide. I will wait for your decision, but in the meantime... perhaps you would care to walk the city with me?"

E'vesash tilted her head curiously. "Why must I decide? It is as much your decision as it is mine." She rose from the table. "But nevermind for the moment...yes, I'd be happy to honor your request." She brushed her dark hair back over her shoulders as she glanced toward the door.

(Ok, I'll make a...uh, walking, evening thread.)
Legolas led her by the hand as they exited the inn, waiting to speak until they were outside.
"It is not my choice alone. I need your opinion as well."

The High King had lain down to take rest in his chambers after a day of audience in his Citadel, and awaking in the early evening, he saw that his bride was out. He smiled, and thought that her perhaps he woould surprise her, for it was oft her wont to frequent the Tower Inn for some light amusement. So he swathed himself in the garb of his northern heritage: a hefty cloak and simple raiment beneath, and made his way to the inn. He entered quietly, bethinking himself to frighten his beloved and see her smile, but there near the rear of the inn he saw her - with Ilmare! He cocked his head to the side and mused, not suspicious of his wife, but some reason for this clandestine meeting there must be. Soon his old Ranger ways took him, and over his head slipped he his hood. Near to the main door was a way to the kitchen, and through this Aragorn ducked. Thinking him a drunk vagabond, the kitchen folk did little to deter him save dark glances, and quickly he came out of the kitchen at the other end of the common room, behind the twain conversers. He took a table right up against the wall - not in the corner, too conspicuous, that - and placed himself where with little effort he might hear with his quick ears all that was said, and such was his stealth that not even Arwen was aware of him. Out from his pocket popped his pipe, and with a quick fill and a tamp, he lit it, and smoked quietly and contentedly, ever listening.
