Ilmare laughed. "What I want? The peace in Middle Earth, of course. But I asked you to come for one special reason. I need you to do me a favour. I did you once a favour, so its just fair to ask you now." She saw Arwens look and smirked but shaked her head. "Nothing against Gondor or your husband, I promise. Its just, that Lord Doren stirrs for panic and he gets a little... annoying. Your husband reacted like I expected and I don't think that he is not running right through my realm to help Arnor when Doren decided to strike against Morsereg or Garland. I really don't like the idea of gondorian troups in my realm. Convince him to keep his soldiers outside, Arwen. You owes me something, you know."

Arwen looked at her in disgust. "You are seriously asking me something like that? For a favour you did for me, you say? What was it, you did for me? It must have been long ago, I don't really remember what that could have been. And whatever you reclaim this for, I will not convince Aragorn to keep outside of your realm. I know what you are going to do, Ilmare. I know your black heart. You seperate Arnor from Gondor so they are helpless when your wolfes enter his borders."

"My wolfes stay where they are until Arnor strikes first." Ilmare shaked angry her head. "I am not going to attack Doren. But I am disapointed in you, Arwen. I thought your honour is more worthy." She laughed and their eyes met each other. "You really don't remember what it was, do you?" she asked surprised. "Is it possible that elves just forget when their lifes are safed? Or is life really so less to you, that you don't cares if you lives or dies?"

Arwen lowered her face and remained silent for a moment. Than she looked into Ilmares eyes again and shaked her head. "I didn't forget that I sliped from that stone and nearly fell into the canyon. And yes, you were there to run for help. I am surprised that you remembers this, because you were a child of fife or six years, certainly not older than that."

"I was ten - well, I think. I am not quite sure how old I was when they found me. But anyway, even it is long ago, I remember that I got you help and that you said you owes me. - I don't want you to get for me in trouble or to do anything what is not confirm with your believings. Just talk to your husband and convince him to keep his troups outside of Enedwaith as long as we are not active fighting with Arnor. Thats all I ask for. A little bit peace and freedom for my people."

Arwen laughed sarcasticily. "Peace and freedom for your people. I am sure you want that. Ilmare, you know Aragorns answer to your request. He said already he stays outside of your realm as long as you remains peacefull. What do you want from me? You've got already what you want and he keeps his word, if you fear that. Save your request of a favour for another reason. You don't need my help for this."

Ilmare smirked. "Well, if you say I can trust in that, I will do. And at least I have your word that you still owes me a favour. I will claim it than a little bit later. But I count on it that you fullfill than what you promised." She raised and layed one hand on Arwens shoulder. "I think I should go and find something to enjoy in your beautifull city." Arwen shivered under her touch and Ilmare laughed. "Oh no, sweet thing, not with you. I know you belongs to somebody and I really don't want to get you in trouble with him, nor do I want to get in trouble with him." she laughed.

"Nice try, Ilmare. You are still disgusting as always. But if I get aware that peoples are missing in Minas Tirith, I know whom to blame and I don't care than if I owe you a favour or not. Understood?" Ilmare nodded silently with a grin and left. Arwen sighed. She shuddered and ordered another spiced hot wine to get the chill out of her bones.

Aragorn's pipe had long since gone out, and he did not refill it, listening with an attentive ear to all that was said. At the least he knew now why his bride and this woman of devious intent had met in this place, and his love and pride in Arwen were and could not be shaken. The concern to him was Ilmare. Evidently his Queen knew somewhat of this woman's history, and she was of the opinion that naught save evil was in her mind. He considered.

Arwen thanked the innkeeper for the wine and took a sip. She noticed that Legolas and the elven woman had gone and she didn't recognized any of the other guests. She sighed and wrapped herself in her cape. The wine didn't seemed to taste good anymore and she prepared to leave. She had to talk to Aragorn about Ilmare. This woman was a dread, where ever she walked.

Aragorn smiled, for even in the dim light and the smoke he saw the bright eyes with which he had fallen so deeply in love so long ago. Then he stood, still swathed in his cloak and on his pipe a'drawing, and made his way to the bar. The innkeeper knew his king in many guises, and plopped down in front of him his customary favorite: a tall amber lager, cold and tasty.
Then young Estel sat down at Arwen's table and let fall his hood, smiling at the glance of surprise upon her fair face.
"Odd companions keep thee, my love," said he, smiling as he took of his drink, and Arwen knew there was no accusation in his tone, but smiled as well.

"One odd gone, next odd did come. This evening seems full of them," she laughed. Arwen let her gaze glide over the guests. "Ilmare is up to something. I am not sure what she plans, she denies everything. But she is really insisting to keep Gondor out of her realm."

Aragorn chuckled. "Odd now, am I?" said he, and laughed. "I was able to hear all that she said, dearest. Perhaps she is planning somewhat against the north. I do not know. Certainly Eomund of Rohan has been the odd one of late. Could there be aught planned between them? And, what of the new Lady of Isengard? Little enough has any heard from her. Much passing there is these days. Vigilant we should remain."

Arwen laid her hand on his arm and smiled at Aragorn. "You aren't? Sneaking in like a ranger, scaring poor innkeeper to death?" She laughed. But than her face went serious again. "What is it with Eomund of Rohan? I think I missed something."

"Recently, love, my cousin Doren asked my leave to station some few of Gondor's Rangers upon the southern borders of Arnor that the White City may be warned of evil in the north. I requested safe passage through Rohan for them, and Eomund denied it out of hand. Strange also has he been behaving in the council in Annuminas, and mayhap there is some connection between the evils of Enedwaith and Isengard which has taken Rohan in its claws. I hear that this Megloran woman is to take the lordship of Rohan from Eomund. I wonder if he even knows it."
