Aaron, if you meant CoE, like councilofelrond.com, I'll have to kick your ass.

I know what you meant about the noncanon. And how everyone is a perfect fighter, never dies (I do kill off my characters from time to time, usually the underdeveloped ones, for just that reason=P), and icky. I don't haveanything against Istari using spells, but when there's 15 wizards it gets a little out of hand (there were only 5, right? I'm not delerious or anything?)

Grammar = essential. I type really fast, and one of my keyboards is crappy, so I don't pay that much attention in general threads, and usually miss a double consonant or mix up the letters, like "htink" instead of "think". And whenever I capitalize the beginning of a name, usually mine, I capitalize the second letter just because my finger doesn't leave the shift key quick enough. But when I RP, I at least reread it to check for those mistakes... It wouldn't kill anyone for other people to do it too.

I agree with you Tony, and I bet that I could type up a long post aswell so don't go underestimating me. grrrr. AND Raithen you dont have to say it but I know exactly what site and what person of whom you are speaking of and for the most part, those are my sentiments exactly. However I do know some who partake in the roleplay there because the admin has been kind to them but I must say that he is indeed perverted and I READ one of those afore mentioned sex scenes and it was apphalling.

I know some people who are new to rp need encouraging, so it's not fair to say to them, : Your posting is pants, please leave,'
with practice they will improve, and encouraging people is always better, but well, my personal opinion, having seen that Admin on other sites, is that he'll give Realms, and ultimate characters to any female poster who will * sleep * with him , and actually come down on those who post well, or entirely ignore them. Especially the guys!
But if people want to put up with that, it's their problem. Relationships are part of life, fantasy or real, and they can be written in a way that isn't offensive, but to ignore character building, spelling, storylines, and anything BUT hard core porn posting, is well perverted in my opinion. Plus that any innocuous looking thread you read ' Walking, ' or ' Searching ', or ' beside the stream ' , actually was total smut was way bad, - as for any kind of plot, forget it, it wasn't happening. Man sees girl, takes off her panties and underwired bra ( Yes, well, they never existed until about 3 centuries ago! ) , sometimes finds another girl to join in and every other word is modern sexual slang. And I think that annoys me more than anything. I'm adult, and not easily shocked, but I get really anoyed at using modern slang in an ancient world. Grrrr!

Well Harad has those big Roman bath type things, big sunken things with bath slaves and whatnot, lol, but no, the best thing is the washing up after dinner, in a kitchen, obviously with plumbing! And wearing boxers.
I know some people don't know, but even if you've only only seen the films, is some elven lord, or human, and his lady wife going to stand in a kitchen and wash the dishes? Can you see Aragorn and Arwen doing that? Or Eowyn, ( with her cooking skills, lol, bless! ) these people had servants for the boring stuff, yes Aragorn could kill, dress and cook a deer, but I'm sure he never had his hands in a bowl of dirty dishes while he chatted to Arwen.

OMG I know exactly what you're talking about! Lets be real here, it was that Realms of Arda site. Im not giving a link, but the admin was an idiot. He has had several other sites before and all have failed since. But anyway, those where exactly like the one he has now. The sex posts are probably about 50% of the board's threads and the roleplaying there is appaling.

At first when I joined I asked him for the realm of Moria. He liked my profile before, so I thought I would be safe. He simply sent me a PM in return saying 'No.' Thats all it said! No explaination or anything. I was pissed, but didn't start anything.

The new member here is actually from there. Hes a good roleplayer, and I sent him the URL. I was actually the one who reported a TOS Violation on them for the sexual posts and stuff, so I was banned imediately.

But anyway, I agree with Rathien. If all you want to do is screw around and can't roleplay without a sex scene for the life of you, you have no bussiness creating a site to begin with.

Well, I started off threads ( long posts ) in the Grey Havens, and while people were being given realms and whatever he ignored me, - not that I asked, actually, since it's no biggie , but people who were total tosh were ruling elsewhere . It should be fair, but he never is. The whole rather pathetic thing is, that he dosn't care , he does not actually want to role play except to screw, his characters are bland, without personality, and he also gets the girls like that, which is also sad, - unless he somehow pressures them, I don't know.
Some-one I know joined a while back, and he PM'd her saying he wished he could post ' relationship ' scenes like ( one of my characters ), but he couldn't, so he would send her some pictures instead. I don't remember what she called them, some Japanese porn which , she said ' Dirty old men and perverted teenage boys get off on ', and she left, feeling creeped out. I think she's reported it since too.
I think that really says it all for me, he can't actually role play at all, ( and dosn't want to ) only smut, and it is total smut, it's not even ' sexy ' to read it, it's like watching two dogs going at it.

But anyway, that's always been a pet peeve, people who use and abuse these sites simply for sex: sad, desperate people. There's not all that many, but they are out there.

Is the new member the one who was Fin- something? he posted wonderfully to * Elentari* there, but then everything went down the toilet and we all got banned or deleted our characters

To be honest, I still find it quite amazing that I still RP after some of my earlier experiences. The first that comes to mind is off a SW site, not very big or impressive by any means, but when I contancted the host he was quite welcoming and wanted me to make a Twi'Lek character, which are basically the sex slaves of the SW universe, being young and naive I thought nothing of it at the time.

Then he added me to MSN and we got talking, nothing huge, but he mentioned he had a wife and a daughter, we talked about to SW and then one day he said "BRB" and was gone for sometime so when he returned it was my turn to go and he said something along the lines of "Where are you going? I just got myself a drink and I thought you were going to work it for me and we could get freaky"

Do I really need to say that he was blocked and deleted instantly? I also had a few experiences like that with people coming after me and when that happens, I leave the site. Since I was young at the time, It definately taught me to be more web savvy.

There are so many different people out there and not all of them are good. I think some people see RPG's not as a creative outlet, but something more along the sense of "The girls at school don't like me so I am going to get my jollies by playing and elven stud muffin that does nothing but fight and score"

I've run into a few of these characters before, I shouldn't laugh at them but I do. What can I say, I am an honest person

I laugh at 'em too, ( You're doing WHAT? ROFLMAO, you have no clue, mate, ! Do you wish to borrow my Karma Sutra or anything? )
but girls are much more vulnerable, it's a shame when they're scared off, or peer pressure forces them into things which I'm sure as hell they've never done, probably never will and know nothing about.
I've not seen many sad pervs, usually they're the same person playing loads of characters.
