Anwyn swept down the steps, making an almost casual gesture as she went and a large white stallion was brought fourth from the stables. Taking the reins she pulled herself into the saddle and sat upright and proud in the saddle "I know well the path to Gondor, follow me and I shall not lead you astray"
OOC I will post next in Gondor.

A Dwarven messenger from Erebor arrived at the gates of Edoras in late afternoon. He made his way up to the Meduseld and found the Lady Anwyn. "My'lady, King Orre of Erebor wishes to strengthen his pledge of allegience to the realms of men. Will you take his offer for an alliance?"

Anwyn looked down upon the dwarf, not that she could help this as there was a significant difference in heights, she gave him a pecuilar look "If your lord has renounced his alliances with the realms of men. Why does he once again seek an alliance with Rohan?"

OOC: LOL, No worries. I was a little confused as well IC Anwyn looked at the dwarf with great curiosity, several of the guards of the hall had moved closer as well eager to hear what her response to such an unsual request would be "I do not give my alliance so loosely...Dwarf. I would require something far more tangiable then the word of your master that he would honour such a thing"

The messenger looked at her for a moment and arched an eyebrow. "Orre is... a Maiar. Of Aule, the Aratar. He has come to aid the forces of light here in Middle-Earth. What more do you need in this time of darkness, M'lady?"

Anwyn was already beginning to slowly shake her head "Do not think me rude Master Dwarf, but the fact your master is a Maiar means very little to me. In fact, if anything...Power does not breed honor. I have learned this lesson the hard time many times over"

The Dwarven Messenger was starting to get annoyed now. Her realm was being attacked and pillaged yet she would not accept aid offered? "Then, m'lady, you will would be inclined to explain just what you want from us of the Lonely Mountain."

Anwyn sensed the dwarves growing fraustation by choose to ignore it, nothing was ever gained with haste "I only expect honesty, Master Dwarf" she said as curteosly as she could manage "I am the voice of my people, and the depend on me to make the correct decesion. I have not had much in the way of dealings with dwarves, and neither have my people for many years. I do wish for help in protecting my lands, but I cannot afford this at the cost of the loss of more life"

At this, the Dwarf was outraged. "Dealings with the Dwarves in years! How DARE you! Are you blind? Gimli of Erebor led his people into the Glittering Caves right behind your own stronghold! Ever since then have your people and us of the Lonely Mountain been on friendly terms!" The Dwarf growled at her with anger and left the hall.

Anwyn raised an eyebrow and watched the dwarf go, it would appear that his temper as well as his stature was quite short indeed. Turning back the guards immediately snapped to attention as Anwyn walked by to attend to other buisness.

There were guards at the doors of Meduseld, of course, who looked with stern, bright eyes , as Raithen approached, he opened his hands, and cloak, to reveal he was carrying no weapons, - they had been left, well hidden - at the inn. He was a master, like his father, of unarmed combat, but it was foolish to travel without any weapon, he needed knives and arrows for hunting, if nothing else. ' I wish audience with the Lady of Rohan, - when she has time, ' he said, with ancient politeness, and an air of being prepared to wait indefinitely, the kind of patience which could be found in those who had lived so very long .

Unclasping her cloak she threw it carelessly over the back of a chair, turning suprised at the speed it had been picked up again and whisked off to be put away. Turning towards the front of the hall Anwyn passed the hearth where the hunting dogs knawed at the bones of the previous nights supper, rising there heads for a moment as she passed before returning to them. Anwyn had just reached the steps of the throne when she felt a presence behind her and turned as a guard bowed low "M'lady. There is one that would seek an audience with you, would you receieve him?"
"Yes, Of course" Anwyn replied, for this was the very reason she had returned "I shall await him"

Raithen was still hooded, but his cloak was unclasped to show no weapons, simply breeches, boots and shirt, in dark green and black, as he crossed the hall. The infalling beam of sunlight caught the huge tapestry showing Eorl, on Felarof, riding to the Field of Celebrant, and picked out gilded gold in the richly carved beams and pillars. he halted, five steps from the Lady and gave a light bow.
' My lady, thank you for seeing me, ' he spoke in Westron, but with no hint of any accent.

Anwyn returned the bow respectfully as was custom "Welcome to Edoras Traveller, I hope that my guards were curtious to you in your coming. I am Anwyn, Queen of Rohan. What may I call you?" she asked softly as her eyes took in his rather tall sature, he stood far above any man she had ever met and she was curious as to where he hailed from.
