[Anwyn]

Medusled, The Golden Hall of Edoras

This is why you may find Anwyn, Ruler of Rohan.

The hall was long and wide and filled with shadows and half lights; mighty pillars upheld its lofty roof. But here and there bright sunbeams fell in glimmering shafts from the eatern windows, high under the deep eaves. Through the louver in the roof above the thin wisps of issuing smoke, the sky showed pale and blue. As their eyes changed, the travellers perceived that the floor was paved with stones of many hues; branching runes and strange devices intertwined beneath their feet. They saw now that the pillars were richly carved, gleaming dully with gold and half-seen colours

[Aidan]

Aidan entered the throneroom, his green Rohirrim cloak billowed behind him. "Westu hal my queen, I am Aidan, a soldier of Rohan" he said touching a fist to his hear and bowing. "I came to see who the ruler of this great country was."

[Anwyn]

Anwyn stood to receive the soldier properly, smiling gently she bowed low to him returning the gesture of respect "Westu hal Aidan" she replied quietly standing "If you seek the ruler, then you may look no further then this, I am Anwyn"

[Aidan]

Aidan smiled at the Queen's kindness and striaghtened up. "I can tell by your look my lady that you are the daughter of kings. I do not wish to take up too much of your time. I just want you to know that you have a loyal soldier. I have fought both at helm's deep and pelennor; I have a few scars as souveniers" he said with a small laugh.

[Anwyn]

Anwyn laughed lightly "Oh no, please. Stay as long as you wish, you are not wasting any of my time. It is an honor to meet one such as yourself that has given so much for his Country. I am most honored to know that you will continue to battle for your country"

[Aidan]

Aidain grinned again. "Aye, I will always fight for Rohan, it has been good for me." Aidan stood more at ease now since he felt more comfortable. "So tell me my queen, what sort of adventures have you gone through?"

[Anwyn]

Anwyn smiled warmly, noting how the Soldiers posture had changed as he became more at ease, she wished that her citizens did not feel the need to be at ceremony with her "I have been on many that a Queen should not admit to" she replied, pale blue eyes sparkling with amusement "Not lately though" she said with the slightest trace of disappoint in her tone "Things have been very quiet in Rohan. Do not receive me wrong, not that I wish for something to happen. I only fear that it maybe the lull before the storm"

[Aidan]

His clear blue eyes narrowed. "Yes my queen, one can never predict when the dark forced will attack. If you do not mind my curiosity my queen..." he said looking at the ground a little embarassed "but what would the plan be if Rohan was invaded? Would you take the forces to helm's deep?"

[Anwyn]

Anwyn studied him for a moment before stepping down the steps to where a map placed on a table "I have given this much thought as of late" she said quietly looking down at the map of the kingdom "I fear that is exactly what the enemy expects us to do. It is a wise idea since no enemy has ever entered the dimwalt while it has been protected by Rohans forces..." she paused "But I know this can not always be so. I have considered the idea of making a most unexpected move." her finger traced a line through the westfold and towards the white mountians coming to rest on Durnharrow "If we can move the citizens to Durnharrow and into the dimwalt, they can find safe passage through the white mountains as our forces stay behind and defend Durnharrow, for its only path is very steep and narrow. Not many forces would be able to breech it"

"I know there are rumors of it being hunted, but I cannot allow silly supersistion to stand in the way of the safety of my people" Anwyn looked up at Aidan "Helms deep is always an option to us. But if it were ever to be breeched our people could escape into the mountains and head west towards Gondor...If Gondor were to help us" she said with a sigh "I must soon seek an auidence with the King of Gondor to discuss such things."

She tucked her hair behind her ear as she continued to stare down at the map, as though it held the answears to her troubles "I do not think that the gaze of evil has fallen upon us yet, but there is much to plan before that time"

[Aidan]

"The dimwalt" Aidan whispered. "We camped near there and we all felt a sinister energy dwelling within there." He shook his head to rid himself of the memory. "But if that is where we must go then I shall follow. It is an easily defendable position, especially with a shield wall that has protruding spears. The only bad part is that the cavalry would not have a lot of room to maneuver with."

[Anwyn]

"I have been there in my travels as well" Anwyn added quietly "It is not a pleasant place indeed, but if we must...It maybe a route we need to take. You are correct, We would not be able to take much heavy calvary with us, and this plan relays on the knowledge of an incoming attack so that we may evacuate women and children while the men prepare for battle. This is not always so" Straightning she placed her hands behind her back and stretched "You have seen many battles, Aidan of Rohan. Tell me, Do you have any suggestions how we may defend ourselves in time of attack? Please, do not be shy with me....I would be more than pleased to hear them"

[Aidan]

Aidan scratched his chin. "Well, if we suddenly got attacked here at Edoras then we must defend the gates first since they are the weakest, and then the walls. We must defend against sappers in case they try to dig under and ruin the foundations of the walls. If we are pretty evenly matched, then we send out the cavalry for a series of hit and run attacks before the enemy can surround Edoras, and when the enemy host gets near the walls then we let loose with arrows. Also we should get a group of horsemen to take out any seige weapons or engineers before they can break down our walls." Aidan studied the map. "Once when I was a few years younger, during the times of peace, I travelled to an elven realm where thay had a peculiar tactic. Their horse archers would charge and fire, then retreat but they kept firing at the enemy. This tactic will only work if the enemy does not have any light cavalry, but it is a great way to loosen them up. These are only suggestions from a humble soldier my queen and I am sure that you can think of something better."

[Anwyn]

"No, No" Anwyn murmured studying the map "Your idea does show great thought and tactic but my fear is that if the enemy is able to breech the walls that we will have no way to flee and evacuate before they are upon us, and if we are to encounter creatures greater than Orcs" Anwyn stopped her fussing and raised her eyes, now studying Aidan keenly "You have much experience with Battle and a keen eye for tactic and know Rohans military very well for you have served it for sometime. Would you consider a postion as my Military Advisor? A captain of the forces if you well, For though I have just met you I sense your nobility and that you are loyal to Rohan and would be honored if you would accept. What say you?"

[Aidan]

Aidan's eyes got big, and a huge grin came across his face. Never had he thought that something like this could happen to him. "My queen, I would be honored to be your captain; I shall not dissappoint you" he said kneeling down.

[Anwyn]

Anwyn smiled and inclinded her head slightly at his motion "Arise, Aidan Captain of the Muster of Rohirrim. May you wield you sword in Rohans service for many years to come"
