"Nay, if I find something, I will take it and leave you here to rott." Saemon grinned.

He positioned the rag carefully over the wound and sinched the ends in a simple knot at the back of her head. He laughed as she flinched, "Don't worry, it'll hurt less with this on it. There, that ought to keep it from bleeding you dry. Give it a second and see if you're able to stand. If Thorongil and the Elf don't come back soon, I'm inclined to say the hell with it and leave them. With all that ruckuss earlier, the guards are sure to return soon."

Idrial wanted to cry out as Vilik pressed the rag to her head, but she knew that would not be good and kept it to merely a hushed whimper. She cast her gaze to the ground as he laughed, and she realized her reaction had been evident. As many times as she'd been hurt at the hands of men, she deserved the right to flinch. Pulling herself together, she murmured a 'thank you' and withdrew herself to the corner. "Go, then." She said to Saemon. "And keep the wealth for yourself. Though as you said, you're...without a weapon, and would be safer here."

He grinned wide. "I was here many times with less than a pan in my hand, lady. I don't need a nanny. But it seems you need one or you will step in more traps and hurt yourself than in just a hole in the ground." He pointed over to Vilik. "And your comrade here, he is a real trustworthy, like it seems. He thinks openly to leave the other two in perill, even he agreed to aid them. No nice character, but thats not hard to figure out anyway." He laughed.

Vilik looked at Saemon with a furrowed brow, "So, a card cheat is going to give a lecture on 'trustworthiness'? And, as I recall, you were need of 'nanny' Thorongil to give you a diaper in the pub last nigh. Or is your memory so short?" He glanced back down the tunnel and gave things some thought. Had he been alone he would no doubt leave Thorongil and the Elf to their mad raid. He had a feeling though that Idrial was not about to leave their company without first finishing whatever it was she had set out to do, and though he didn't say it, he figured she may need a bit of help in doing so. He pulled a dagger from the folds of his clothes and offered it to Saemon. "You head down those stairs and see what you can stir up. We'll head back down this tunnel and find out what those two are doing. See if you can't find a way to meet back up with us."

Saemon took the knife. "Thanks, ... for the knife I mean." He looked from Viik to Idrial. "Your not coming with me?"

Idrial listened as the two discussed what to do. She rested her head back against the wall, brushing a bit of blood colored hair back from her face. "We must go find them?" She finally asked, breaking her silence with soft words. "You asked earlier, who they were." The maiden sighed and glanced toward Vilik. "I know naught of the elf...but I believe Thorongil to be the King of Gondor himself. I have lived in Gondor all my life, t'would be hard not to recognize such a person." Idrial pulled herself to her feet, gripping the wall to keep herself from collapsing...as if it would stop the room from spinning.

Saemon looked at her. "The King? Your kidding, do you? I mean, this Thorongil guy? He doesn't look like a King to me, more like a ranger or something like that." He noticed that she had problems to keep balance when she raised. "You better goes no where," he said suddenly. "You can't even stand. The hit was quite more as it seemed. How the hek did you manage that?"

Idrial watched him as he spoke, her eyes glinting in irritation as she clung to the wall with one hand, bit by bit releasing her hold upon it. "Why would I have come this far to risk my neck for a mere ranger?" She asked with a sharp tone. "And I can too stand. What do you think I am doing now? You warned us naught of that gaping hole and I fell into it. Though, being prone to accidents has long been a trait of mine...I suppose it was passed down to me."

"I have no Idea why you have to come far or near to risk your neck for a stranger, if he is King of Gondor or a ranger, anyway. But that you can't even stand properly, that's clear to see." Saemon said patiently and looked to Vilik. "So you both are here, cause this fellow is a King. Your gonna paid for this job?"

Vilik listened with annoyance at Saemon's blabber. "Like you said Saemon, he dosn't seem like a king to me. Now, hurry up and be off down those stairs." He turned and carefully stepped over the hole that Idrail had fallen in. After crossing it he turned back and offered her a hand to help her over. Asking, "What leads you to think this man Thorongil to be the King of Gondor?"

Idrial hesitated at first, but finally placed her hand in his, hopping carefully over the open space, dreading the dizzy effect that followed. She held tightly to him for a moment as she regained her footing, then immediatly let go. Her thoughts wandered to his question. "I recognize him." She stated simply. "I could never forget his face, nor those of his guards...they haunt my mind."

After she cleared the hole and she regained her balance they turned down the tunnel and headed for the place they had split ways with Thorongil and the elf. "I've never seen the King of Gondor myself so I can't say wether or not Thorongil resembles him." The pain and anger in her voice when talked about him though was evident enough. "Well, if he is indeed the King, I see no reason to continue on in this game with him, nothing good ever came to me and mine with him on the throne. Still, its hard to imagine that I would come across the King of Gondor wandering in desert of Harad. I just dosn't make sense."

Idrial shrugged her shoulder. "I know not why he is here...I just chose to come along. My mistake, I know, but a neccessary one." They made it a short distance farther, and the maiden leaned against the stone wall, pressing her hand to her head. "Please, let us pause for a moment." Her breathing was deep, as if she'd just run a good distance. She wondered briefly what Saemon was to find down the winding stairs, but the thought was soon gone from her mind as she focused on collecting herself. "I do not wish for a confrontation." She said simply, worried that should they follow Thorongil and Alagos to Gurherdir's chambers that they might meet up with guards. "I surely would not last."

Saemon shoke his head and made his way downstairs again. He heared some voices behind a door at the end of the following corridore. Saemon stood put and listened. It sounded like guardians, who were talking about something random. He grinned. These guys werent alarmed at all by the trouble in the kitchen. It would have made no sense why they should. There was often a lot of trouble between the staff. He thought about what he could do to stirr them up and had an idea.
