He resumed his position at the helm, glancing around at the fishing boats they were passing. It seemed so far that luck was on their side for none of the nearby fisherman gave even a passing glance at the boat. He turned to Idrial as she asked about the depths of the boat. "Pretty standard on these yachts: Galley, bedroom, store room and head. Go on, have a look, its quite roomy down there." He smiled and motioned for her to go explore.

Idrial glanced up as he mentioned the part about a bedroom and the boat being roomy. "Ah, good. I was not exactly looking forward to the prospects of sleeping 'neath the stars. I would much rather have a bed and a roof over my head. And I'm glad the contraption is a bit larger than the last boat." She grinned and shook her head as she descended the wooden stairs. A short while later she returned, having been throughout. "I think it looks grand. It is nearly like a house upon the water." She said with a laugh.

While Idrial was below deck they had saild completely out of Umbar's harbor harbor. Before them lay the great expanse of the Bay of Belfalas. Vilik turned the wheel starboard and the boom swung by overhead as the yacht turned from its westardly course to a more northerly one. With nothing but open water ahead of them Vilik tied a rope to the helm to hold the course steady and he walked towards the cabin. Idrial emerged just as he was reaching the door and he smiled as she commented on the boat. "We should have no problem sailing anywere in this boat, its good and sturdy." He leaned back against the railing, breathing in the ocean air.

Idrial nodded and walked over, leaning against the rail beside him. "Yes, I can see that." She folded her arms, looking out across the great expanse of water before them. "It's quite a sight." She said, nodding out before them. She breathed in deeply, allowing the fresh air to fill her lungs. It felt good to be calmly sailing...having nothing to worry about. She glanced up at Vilik, watching him as he too looked out across the water. He was very kind...and although she could not quite understand it, she was grateful for his comforting presence.

Vilik gazed out at the endless swells. "Yes it is," he said simply in response to her question. "There is nothing quite like the freedom of the open sea and you never know what lies just beyond the horizon." He peered out a few moments longer, then turned to Idrial, smilling as he watched her leaning against the rail with the wind blowling through her hair. "Seems the pretty scenery stretches beyond the waters and into the boat as well."

Idrial looked up to meet his gaze as he turned toward her. She smiled at his words, glancing down toward the ground for a brief moment before raising her eyes once more. "Why thank you, kind sir." She rested her hands against the railing, supporting herself as she remained leaned against it. "It is so peaceful out here." She said, unable to hear anything but the sound of the waves against the side of the boat, and the occasional bird as it flew toward or away from the land behind them.

"Your quite welcome, m'lady." He replied in a tone mockfull of Gondorian nobles and laughed a little after saying it. He turned to her, placing his hands on the railing to either side of her, and leaned forward. "I'm glad you seem to be enjoying yourself. It'll be at least a two day journey before we see land again." He smirked, "You're stuck out here with me 'till then."

Idrial was surprised as he drew near to her, but she smiled, meeting his gaze with amusement. "Yes...and it would seem I am also trapped here against this railing," she said, noting that his arms blocked her passage on either side. "But I think I could survive both fates." She glanced over his shoulder, trying to appear as if she were searching for a way out or a way past.

He laughed and made a joking comment, "Oh, I'm sure you'll make it. I just wonder if I'll survive you....." He slid his hands off the rail and slipped them around her waist, pulling her body close to his. "I have a feeling it'll be a fun trip either way." He looked down at her and smiled warmly before placing a kiss upon her lips.

Idrial draped her arms about his neck as he drew her close against him, meeting her lips with his. "Oh, do you think so?" She asked, a small smirk playing upon her features. The maiden placed a hand lightly upon the side of his face, her dark brown eyes watching his, a hint of laughter in her gaze. She placed a brief kiss upon his lips before leaning back to look at him once more.

He grinned, "Oh, I do think so. From the look in your eye I can hardly tell if you will return my kiss or or plant a dagger in my side." He kissed her again, savoring the way the salt air mixed with the taste of her lips. He pulled away after the long kiss and smiled, looking into her eyes.

Idrial laughed. "Well, I hope this journey meets up with your expectations." She traced along his jawline with the tip of her finger as she smiled up to him. The maiden slid her arms up about his neck, drawing herself close to him. She placed a few quick kisses upon his lips before resting her head against his shoulder and closing her eyes, content to stand there with him.

Vilik smiled as she rested her head on his shoulder, "It just might meet my expectations, guess we'll have to wait and see." He looked out over the horizon, "You know, we are going to have to stop in Gondor to pick up supplies, though, we can avoid the major ports."

Idrial stiffened slightly at Vilik's mention of stopping at Gondor, and she leaned back to look up at him. She pasted a smile onto her face and nodded, following his gaze out across the water. "That's fine...we do need supplies, after all." She let her hands slide down to rest upon his chest as he held her, though her gaze was still following the line of the horizon.

He laughed, "Yeh, we're gonna need supplies. Its a long way to......," he paused and gave her a questioning look, "Did you ever make up your mind on where you'd like to go?" He grinned and squeezed her a little tighter for a second. "Or is it your wish that we just wonder aimlessly across the seas?"
