Minos led a host of forty thousand to gates of Kazad-Bouruden, the cheif city of the Blue Mountains. The bulk of the host held back as a few Trolls were sent forward, yeilding a mighty battering ram. At Minos' commanded the Trolls heaved back the hefty ram and let it loose to fly against the gates. The head of the ram slammed against the gate with a resounding crash and the Trolls heaved it back again.... they would continue untill the gates fell or the dwarves of the Ered Luin came out to face them.

Gimli led his folk, 35,000 grim faced dwarves across the terrain of Arnor. They had left at word from their folk at the blue mountains, and news had come born by the ravens.
Now Gimli, decked in a shirt of mithril trudged on with his folk. They were ready to go without sleep for many nights, and they would not rest until their kin were saved...

Megloren and her own host of elite Wargs rode out to the aid of the Dwarves of Ered Luin also. Following close behind those of Erebor, they were not going to let a long ally fall. A messenger was sent out to Lord Aragorn to inform him of this treachery.

400 elves marched behind the host of the Dwarfs , which they had sighted from the safty of the woods, there Golden armour shined in the sunlight and there bows stood almost as tall as themselves, and thery were the only ones strong enough to use such a weapon.
They were the best Rivendell had, they were the ones , who survied the Siege of Gondolin , the kinslaying at the harbours , and the surviors of the Last Alliance a 7 year siege , these were formidable foes, at the head marched Gorfindel , his armour like the others shone bright , yet he wore a red cape , instead of blue, to distuinguish his rank.
