Dwar led the host of 30,000 to Haradwaith, but had been informed by a Duskwraith of Akhorahil's host that plans had changed. He was to attack Erebor as a diversion, so as to allow the takeover of Ered Luin an easy breakthrough.
His cold eyes set on the mountain, where the Dragon Smaug had dwelt those many years ago, as he approached with the host. As they approached, those left within the borders of Erebor noticed their breath beginning to chill as the temperature dropped rapidly. The Spectres and Spectral Wargs marched at the front of the lines, followed by the ghastly Revenants, freezing the air as they walked. Duskwraiths walked behind them, and in their eyes echoed the pain of their master, who watched through their eyes.
The Olog-Hai pushed past the ghastly spirits and began beating on their gates with their mighty hammers, and Dwar smirked. When the gates crumbled, Erebor would be in for a new surprise. Morsereg had awakened the Evil Spirits of Angmar.

The Easterling captain ,Arisk, who's face was masked with the image of a demon rode onto the horizon with a large force of peoples from Rhun and from Arnor. At the head of the force were the Excecutioners of Fornost, the Stone Trolls, and the Winged Guard accompanied by hosts of Arnorien foot soldiers and Eastering Warriors. The War Lord of Rhun as they were called were assembled in the rear ranks and watching the sky in the air. Soon Erebor would be ravaged by the dragons of Middle Earth once more.
As the armies marched slowly forward, on the horizon the hosts of Angmar came into view. Arisk grimaced. He hadn't expected a party. This job was said to be an easy battle with little complications. All that the messenger who had reported to him remembered was that the King had been babbling about some foolish cleansing of Middle Earth. It mattered not to him. The orders given to him were secret and the one who gave them could not be known.
As the forces of Rhun approached the rear ranks of Angmar's Arisk stepped forward and began eyeing the host searching for some manner of a leader. "Who is leader of these hosts! I demand to know!"

Dwar turned and began to glide over to Arisk, "I am!" He hissed, and looked at Arisk, "And who are you, what is your business here??"

"I am, Arisk the leader of the Easterling armies. I come in the name of Rhun's grand lord and now that the dwarves of the Lonely Mountain have departed, Rhun shall claim this mountain as a province of it's might."

The dwarves inside the Lonely Mountain were silent, showing nothing of their numbers. They would wait out this seige, and from inside their fortress they could last long. The great gates were swung to, and stone was piled behind it, laid in strong foundation. Let the evil outside bide its time. They still had might left, and would fight to the last.
Axes were handed forth, dwarves put on their mail coats and they waited... One other passage was there, on the west side of the mountain, and the dwarves waited, keeping it closed. If need be, they would make their escape there, taking with them as much of their force as possible...

"For Rhun?" Dwar let out a cold laugh, "Nay. Erebor is to be conquered in the name of Morsereg of Angmar, for we have started the siege," He motioned to the Olog-Hai beating on the gates of Erebor, "And, now, seriously..." He smirked, and he was joined by a handful of spectres and revenants, "Do you really want to argue with the dead?"

"We shall and we will!" One of the Dunedain stepped forward. It was Noredred. He unrolled a peice of parchment and started to sing. He would stop only if this creature gave into the demands of the king.
Noredred was the only one Doren had shared his plans with and he knew the cause well.

The dwarves waited without anticipation, as they took turns moving the heavy stone in the way of the gates.

Noredred stopped singing and realized something he looked towards Dwar with disgust. He remembered the fell creature from the Border Road. "We must not fight. We shall take Erebor toghether and discuss this another day. I shall merge our ranks with your own."
Arisk nodded and shouted to the Easterlings. They began to mingle with the armies of Angmar. When the signal was given catapults fired great flaming boulders over the gates of Erebor. Screams were let out from within the gates as the first fires of battle began. Arisk signalled the archers of Rhun to come forward aswell as the Rangers and Dunedain. The Arnorien army summoned had small portions from each unit. The Archers moved behind the trolls as did the Stone Trolls of The Trollshaws. Ballistas aswell were brought to the first ranks and as soon as the trolls managed to break the gates, the bolts and arrows would be fired into the dwarven ranks.

30,000 dwarves move toward Erebor with Kili at their head holding high his battle axe," to Eerbor and to victory." The force moved quickly and would reach Erebor in two days.

(Uh, no offense guys, but I always though Erebor was at the top of a large valley, and the only accessible way was going up a narrow path uphill to the gate right? Correct me if I'm wrong...)

(Yea well Carn Dum is nearly unassailable because its the tallest northern peak of the Misty Mountains and it is surrounded by a lot of tall mountains, making it nerely impossible for an army to attack there, but that doesn't stop you guys does it? LOL)

(Guys the hostility that has become apparent on the board doesn't need to grow into the battles. In fact i dont think now is a good time for battles so until things cool off i'm out of this battle. no official retreat i guess but im not posting any more until at least Aaron can say his peice in these matters.)

(Oh, well I wasn't being hostile, just trying to get the right info... I never researched Carn Dum so I didn't have any idea, but I had researched Erebor, and I was always under hte impression that it was very restricted in terms of access... not like it matters...)

The Rangers of Arnor aswell as a select group from the armored archers made their way to the higher ground above the narrow pathway to the gate that had opened up into a small plot of land for the armies to stand while waiting. The advancement into the gate would be a bit slower but if the plans worked then that would not matter.
Trebuchets hurled flaming boulders over the gates into the baracading dwarves. The Rangers and Archers from Arnor and Rhun then notched their arrows and prepared to fire. Noredred watched beside Arisk as the dwarvs began to cluster closer to the walls. He nodded to the preparing invasion force. They loocked somewhat flustered and shook their heads. The dwarven stone would not crack. This was a delima.
Arisk stroked his beard as he watched the armies restlessly shuffle before the gate. He wondered if now was the time to test their weapon. He gripped an Easterling and stared him in the eyes. "Bring forth Gurthang." The Easterling nodded and scurried into the hosts of Arisk.
