Ashuron gripped his broadsword in one hand and weakly blocked Garland's short sword with it, allowing his body to relax and be thrown back by the force, and proceeded to move a little farther out of range, drawing his bow once again and shooting off several arrows at Garland.

Garland rolled forward towards Ashuron, managing to dodge the arrows, save for one that zipped by his head and cut his ear. He rolled and came up close to Ash, swinging his short sword at Ash's midsection as he rose to his feet.

Ashuron moved backwards so that Garland's slash only made a light cut across his body and quickly made another kick towards the man's side while placing another arrow on his bow and shooting it close range.

The kick caught Garland hard in his side but he pressed forward with his wieght anyhow. As Ash rose his bow Garland swung his broad sword down hard, chopping the arrow in half as Ash went to release it. He then stepped forward again and punched hard at Ash's face, then after following throuh with the punch, swung his arm around so that his sword swung at Ash's neck.

Garland's punch hit Ash's face, causing his nose to slightly drip blood and force him away from the sword swing. Ash threw his bow aside, quickly drawing his sword and performing a particularly hard slash straight at Garland's sword, hoping to sunder the blade into two parts. With a laugh Ash thought, Then he could reforge the sword and the race of man would be asked ot bow to him next.

Garland's and Ash's swords came together with a resounding clang and they locked together in a cross between the pair. Garland smirked as he tried to push Ash's sword back to his chest with his broad sword. In his left hand he twirled his short sword and still grinning he quickly halted the blade and from low jabbed it towards Ash's ribcage.

Ash side-stepped to the left so that Garland's short blade only cut a medium sized gash in his front instead of spearing his heart and his own golden blade slid up and away from the sword of Garland. Due to the force Garland had been exerting upon his blade to keep Ash's blade locked in place, it would have to go forward for a second into empty space, a few seconds that Ash intended to use to its best effect, by slashing at Garland's side, and thus did he attempt.

Ash's blade hit Garland's side, though it met with his mail shirt and slid downward. The blade sliced into his skin as it slid to the bottom of the mail armor, though the gash was not as serious as it would have been if the mail had not slowed the blade. Garland spun back to face Ash as the blade finished the swipe against his side and with a spin he brought the Broad sword sweeping down on Ash and spun again, slashing with the shortsword. As he completed the two spins, he was now at Ash's other side and stood with his swords ready.

Ash ignored the new slashes upon him and continued to battle, spinning around with his sword outstretched to come in at Garland from the side while keeping him as far away from his target as possible.

Garland was ready to parry and did so with his short sword while taking two wide steps closer to Ash. With the full force of his movement the fist that was clenched tightly around his broad sword flew at Ash's face. As he completed the punch he moved his arm downwards and back in an attempt to slice into Ash's sword arm.

The fist hit Ash's face and left a bruise on his cheek, but otherwise did nothing. Ash pulled his arm back, placing his mithril arm plate in between him and Garland's sword. Then he used the position of the arm to send a powerful thrust of sword straight towards Garland.

Garland shifted to the left causing Ash's blade to catch him in the arm instead of his chest. The blade broke through his mail and sliced his flesh, luckily missing any artery. With a grunt Garland swung both his blades horizontally down at Ash's neck. As he completed his cross cleave he spun around and kicked at Ash's sternum.

Garland's blades left a cut on both shoulders as Ash moved backwards, although these were a little too deep for Ash to ignore entirely. He let lose an incredibley loud battle cry as he charged forward slashing first at Garland's right arm, and then bringing the blade up and around to assault the left side.

Ash's blade caught his right arm hitting it hard and bruising it, but this time his mail shirt held its own and didn't allow a cut. He gave a loud grunt of his own and brought his short sword up to meet Ash's blade as it swung towards his left side. When the two blades clashed together Garland pushed up and out, making sure the blade of his short sword stayed pressed against Ash's golden blade while he swung his broad sword diagonaly up, aiming the upward cleave at Ash's underarm. He took a step back after finishing his swing, letting Ash's blade free of the short sword as he brought his weapons back before him, readied to strike or defend.

The blade of Garland cut a slash in it's targeted area. Ash thrust his sword forward again, but at the last second, changed its angle so it went up and past the man's shoulder, at which point he brought it around to slam the wide-edge against Garland's head and bringing Ash up close, giving him the perfect opportunity to give a close up kick to Garland's chest, which of course he took.
