The High King Aragorn and his beautiful Queen Arwen rode into Edoras as the evening was still young, and dismounted to snatches of song about the town in praise of the new Queen. They were ushered into the ballroom of Meduseld, and there they walked smiling up to Lady Arien. Arwen was resplendent in a magnificent dress of crimson and sable, and Aragorn was handsome in his fine robes of state. He took Arien's hand and kissed it, as he bowed to his knees and Arwen deeply curtsied. " My Lady Arien," Aragorn greeted her, " Honoured are we to attend this the celebration ball of thy new Queenship. All of Gondor's best wishes go with thee during thy new rule, but now is not the time for politicking. Tonight is a night for dancing!" He left Arwen with Arien for a moment to get his wife a glass of punch, after which they would dance upon the floor.

Arwen smiled at Arien while Aragorn was gone for the punch. "We haven't met before, my Lady. I am glad to welcome you into your new rulership. If you ever need a womens help in some matters."she twinked with one eye,"let me know and I will love to."

Aragorn came bustling back across the floor, laughing at some tale he heard the servants tell, and offered his wife a glass of white wine. She smiled and drank, and he bent down to kiss her gently.
"Lady Arien," said Aragorn, "I apologoze, but I am sure thou shalt understand when I say that I must abscond with thy conversation parter. My love, wouldst thou care to dance?"

"I love to dance with you, dear."she said to Aragorn, returning his kiss and turned back to Arien. "I beg your pardon, my Lady, but we may speak later more." she smiled and took Aragorns arm to follow him onto the dance floor.

"No problem" She smiled as they danced, wishing she had a man that would take care of her like Arwen had Aragorn.

Garland arrived to Edoras and left his steed with a stable boy before making his way to the Golden Hall. A rohirrim opened the door as he approached and he stepped inside where a valet took his cloak. He walked in causually and glanced around to see whom else was attending.

Aragorn saw Garland ere he swept Arwen away into a waltz, and waved with a smile to him from across the ballroom. Then he turned his attention back to the dance, and with well-timed steps and even leaps he lead her about the hall until she laughed and giggled with happiness, lifting her on high and swinging her in his arms, keeping time to the lilting music with his light feet.

Arwen flew in his arms through the ballroom and the speed and lightness of their dance made her giggle. It was a dive into the light of the candelabers surround and the rythm of the music and Aragorn lead her perfectly skilled. All to quick the music stoped and both laughed happily and out of breath.

The music came to a sudden halt with a crash of trumpets and cymbals, and Aragorn let Arwen go from his fingers, ending their dance in a spin of her dress as she soared across the floor, breathless and giddy with schoolgirl excitement. He came back over to her and dropped into a sweeping bow, then took her hand and led her back to Arien, for, as the players had ceased to take their rest, they were of a mind to speak to Arien further.

Arwen smiled at him when he bowed and took his arm to let him guided her back to Arien.

"My lady," sayeth Aragorn as he and his fair bride strideth up to Arien, "Thy hall hast our thanks for the marvellous ball, and thee our blessing as Queen. Thou'rt indeed young for the task, methinks. Find thou it difficult, the ruling of a kingdom?"

Nellethiel entered the hall slowly. She was wearing a white dress with purple ribbons around her wrist and arms, and some light pink handwork flowers on her chest. She took a deep breath and walked through the hall to reach Garland.

Garland returned Aragorn's nod and wave, then turned his head towards the door, lifting his brow in suprise and smiling as Nellethiel approached. "My my, you do clean up rather nicely don't you.: He leaned forward and whispered, "Though, I should remind you it could be considered rude to try and outdress a queen at her own ball." Garland glanced around until he caught sight of servant carrying wine and waved the fellow over, taking two glasses from the tray, offering one to Nelle.
