The guards admitted the man into the throne room and led him before the king. Valdrik looked down, studying the man, whom looked as if he'd just had a long and hard ride. "What brings you to my halls, my friend?"

Valdrik thought long on the situation. He had sent scouts to asess the situation shortly after the other Arnorian had requested his aid. It did seem a mighty battle was now underway and he was comming more and more reluctant to sit it out. He nodded his head. "You shall have my aid. Send word to the front that Enedwaith rides for Erebor with a mighty host. I shall not let Gondor have the glory of a victory."

He nodded and nbowed and said " Arnor will not forget this , many thanks" with that he departed the room and made for Arnor to summon mor emen for ocunter attacks and act as shock absorbers.

Into the land of Enedwaith rode a massive Winged Guard of Gondor, clad in plate mail fashioned of blackened mithril, and bearing both a sword and longsword, as well as a great polearm. His horse quickly bore him to the the Hall of the King, and haughtily he dismounted. The guards, it is true, were rather taken aback at the prospect of a proud member of the army of a great foe riding into their midst, but they did their duty and waylaid him, escorting him to where he must needs await the pleasure of Lord Valdrik to be seen. He declared that he brought urgent tidings from Gondor, and that he must be allowed to speak with the King at once.

Sophianna had been making her rounds at the very time that the visitor decided to arrive. She hadn't at all expected the presence of a Gondorian Guard in the very center of their own Hall, but she hid her surprise well and placed her hands on her hips casually as she approached. "You must be here to see the king," she said obviously, a thick accent ringing in her voice.

Niether of the two took notice of the tall, dirty man standing amongst the gaurds. In his current apparel Valdrik seemed as a mere soldier, not matching even the rank of the elite guards that protected the throne room. He watched the Gondorian curiously as he was led in and might have approached and made himself known had Sophia not come. Now he decided to listen in for a moment longer.

"You speak sooth, m'lady," the elite Winged Guard replied. "I see you to be someone of rank within thy people, and offer you my respect accordingly. I apologize for the suddenness of my approach, and the urgency of my request, but I have my orders from the High King Elessar, who is also ... someone of rank within his people. My quest is too seek out the Lord Valdrik and to relate to him, and to him only, my message. Please bring me before him."

Sophianna arched a brow, somewhat surprised by the man's answer. "A message for the Lord and him alone?" She casually meandered her way a bit nearer. "Do not be so prejudice. You are right to offer me your respect in accordance to my position here." Finally, she laughed...though the sound held more coldness than joy. She tapped the toe of her boot against the floor, and tilted her head, her dark hair spilling over her shoulder. "I am sorry that it is placed upon me to inform you that the Lord himself is not in the throne room at the moment. I do not know when he will return." Sophia shrugged slighty. "You may wait here, if you wish, for his return. But be sure you do not try anything...we are watching."

"Then neither should you be so prejudiced, and should respect my position with my own people, for it was not through lack of wit that I gained this post, and I certainly have some remaining to know that such an attempt would prove foolhardy. You are a captain among your folk, as am I, though in Gondor we have different notions of what constitutes a ... captain." He eyed her clothing, lack of bearing and insignia, and the cavalier way with which she bore herself, and slightly shook his head. Not waiting for an invitation, he sat himself down upon an ornate chair hard by. "I find this seat to my liking," he grinned, "and here shall I await thy lord's pleasure. If it should not be too difficult, please be a good little captain and inform him that urgent business awaits him."
He flashed another smile of white teeth, and removed his polearm from his back, and began to sharpen the wicked blade with a whetstone from his pack.

Valdrik had slipped away once again unnoticed as the pair continued spatting backing forth. After a quick clean up and change into more kingly garments he returned to his throne to find the Gondorian sitting smuggly in it.
'Am I to understand the Lord of Gondor has sent you here usurp me and take my place on the throne of Enedwaith? Or is it merely ignorance that led you take a seat in my chair?'
The Gondorian's head popped up as Valdrik spoke, but before he could retort Valdrik crossed his arms an in a more forcefull voice than before replied, 'State you business, pawn of Gondor, before my intrest in what dealings your Lord has with me wains.'

The Guard's head cocked to the side and he grinned at Valdrik's blusters. "O my great King of the Plains, whose will no man may bend, far be it from Aragorn to seek to usurp your place in your own realm. Gondor knows no such ambitions or wanton greed, or self-importance, as do ... certain folk," he spat, with a glance at Sophianna. "Nay, nay - it is merely that my Lord has learned of an opportunity of benefit to both Gondor and Enedwaith, and would request your presence in his realm for a council - that is all."

"Very well, venerated footman of Gondor, make haste and inform your most generous Lord that I shall be making my way to his halls." Without so much as a bow Valdrik turned to leave the room, motioning to Sophianna as he passed, "Please, show our guest to the door and prepare my horse for the journey."
