OK guys, I want to run this by you and get your thoughts.
Now, I'm not rushing into anything, but we've been back with this new version for a while. And no one's come back. I sent out a mass email, but hardly anyone has come back and is posting. Kinda tough to make an RP board exciting when there's less than 10 people who post, and even then not very often. I'm not faulting anyone - god knows I'd have to fault myself too if I was, I'm just saying that maybe it's time in all our lives that we moved on to other things. I know I at least have a lot of personal changes up around the corner, and many that have already come. I'm going to start looking into graphic design classes, I'm going to be a lot more active on DA, and going to make art pieces as frequently as I can. I'm also going to shut down my .com, or at least SERIOUSLY clean it out, and prolly only have a tiny blog and my most recent DA submission on there.
So. Yes, I'm considering closing the forum. What do you guys think?

I think it might just be time to close it. Back in the day when we had a ton of members and everyone's interest in LotR was high it was fun, but that time has long been over and I guess we should move on. Hate to see it go though =(

Hate to see it go though =( I hate to see it go, too. I've put so much time and love into this place, and I know all you guys have, too. For some of us, the devotion to Lord of the Rings will never die, but for some it's been a while since the movies were released, and interest has waned. People change, interests alter. I know that only too well. I think it might be time for us to take the memories we've gained here and go our seperate ways.

God, I'd hate to see this place go. So many memories. This is where Morsereg developed from a two-dimensional character to one of the most sinister beings in LOTR lore. There's not that many active LOTR boards around anymore, so if this board shuts down I'll have to retire this form of Morsereg (I'm using a slightly deviated version on Thar Shaddin). However, I refuse to go our seperate ways. If this shuts down, both of you (Corey and Aaron), and Petra, and anyone else who's interested, better damn keep in touch. I'll miss you guys if this shit retires and I never talk to you again.

Yeh, we definitely need to keep in touch. Y'all can always hit me up on AIM or MSN. And maybe instead of closing the site completely down change it up to a simpler design that wont take all your .com's storage for images and leave this proboard up so we can still keep off topic threads going and what not.

I like that idea, Corey. You guys are both right. Maybe just make this a simple red and black type thing, with no images I'd have to host, where we can chat and gab and vent with each other. I'd go for that, actually. That sound like a damn good idea, whadda ya think, guys?

... If you close your domain, get an LJ. That'd be teh awesome. Or get one regardless. *pressure pressure* <-- (joking) Same for me -- I'd hate to see it go, but it's just no getting up like it used to... for lack of better words. You know what I mean.

Okay, this is a good board, with good rp-res, which is why you are not active, there ARE very active sites out there- with posting all like this: '' **** did say:" *** nice to meet you here.I`ve got hvat you did want. A sword of arnor,a cloack and a dunedain longbow As one post. Those sort of people never rp on boards where people actually write long, well constructed posts, because they feel too intimidated. Good! I write fanfic mainly now, Tolkien fanfic, I prefer writing to rp, or I create interactive stories, I don't even like calling it rp any more, rp is what that above RTA of a post is, these days. My love for Tolkien only increases, I've been reading him a long time, the films made no difference. I won't recommend my site as it is mainly a board for writing, not rp, so a few of us only write when the muse is on, or we have time, since we are all adults and working or university, but if no-one has tried to join this following one lostfellowship.proboards21.com/index.cgiThat I do recommend, for several reasons: They stick to canon. If one does not sound mature enough to play an elf, they will say so , they will demand good grammar, and at least ten lines per post, or longer, and you have to audition and be accepted before you are able to post. This all might seem very strict, but it means you read something worth reading, and the admin and mods are very well read on Tolkien. It's the only rp site now I would recommend to any-one who actually likes intermediate to advanced role play and not these ghastly one line mis-spelled disasters of rp sites which are running now. The only thing I will say, is to play Morsereg they would have to approve a hell of a good story, since Maia/Valar characters are linited to those actually in Middle Earth - Saeren would be a no-go, I am almost certain. I am more lenient , myself, but it isn't my site, and I respect their integrity. It surely does weed out these kids who all want to play amazing 18 year old elf warrioresses. Also any female woman warrior is O.U.T., because women were not, save Rohirrim nobility, even Elven women warriors - well there are some, but they have good reasons and were accepted because of those. Good luck to all, Morsereg and whoever played Aragorn - some of THE best writing I have ever read is from you two, if you do not publish fanfic on the internet , you should be, because you're wasting a great gift. Namarie.

I don't think so, Tom. It's sad, but I think CoG has gone for good now. It was a great few years, and some of my best memories online have been made here.
So many memories. I still remember in great detail, some of the best moments CoG ever had. The Battle of the Morannon not long after I joined...A great siege of Arnor that involved just about everyone and was close to being Battle of the Morannon Pt. 2.
The rivalry between Myself and Legolas that involved him sieging me at just about every interval, and the death of Morsereg's first child. Then, in a seperate incarnation of CoG, Morsereg shattering Mindolluin and almost destroying Gondor...
So many memories of this place. It's weird to be back and not be RPing. Morsereg just isn't the same without a sword in his hand and the hosts of Angmar at his control. I use him in a seperate RP now, as a Vampire, but Thar Shaddin doesn't make me want to spend hours on there at once, because it's not CoG. But, I guess, time has gone on and many have lost interest in LOTR.
Actually, today, I thought of this place twice, once because I was listening to the Nightfall In Middle-Earth album, which is a concept album by the band Blind Guardian, based on The Silmarillion. The second time, because in an RP with a friend, one of my current characters is a Drow and I suddenly remembered Nurutyave.
Though it's unlikely he'll see this, thank you Saeren, for the compliments. I'm currently working on a book, "Wonderland Was Never Enough", since the Alice in Wonderland copyright is long since over. If I ever get it published I'll track you down and let you know.
I'll IM you sometime, Tom. If anyone has AIM, you can IM me at bldredridinghood
Hope to talk to some of you soon.
