The Westfold

[Anwyn]

The westernmost region of Rohan, lying immediately to the east of the Gap of Rohan, and in which lay Helm's Deep. Its border with the Eastfold was marked by the course of the Snowbourn River

[Sophianna]

As commanded by the lord Valdrik, Sophianna rode with haste toward the very edge of the westfold. Her orders were to stir up trouble...create a bit of a disturbance and harass the people. Apparently, Valdrik wished to see how the new queen of Rohan would respond to such an act. With a small army of 50, Sophianna made her way through small villages throughout the Westfold. They set a few buildings aflame, scattered livestock and stirred up trouble among the locals. And for a reaction they did wait, wondering if they would get one at all.

[Anwyn]

A soldier dropped to his knee, head bowed respectfully "My Queen, Word has reached us that smoke rises from the Westfold. What would you have us do?" Anwyn frowned, this could only mean one thing "Captain. Take as many men as you can find and ride out to the disturbance and see what is happening" The captain nodded and stood turning sharply motioning to some of the Soldiers that stood at attention, they fell into place behind him "Wait!" The captain stopped and turned, Anwyn stood but a few paces behind him "I shall come with you as well"

The riders galloped towards the plain, Anwyn had summoned healers as well to come along in case there were injured that needed attending. Riding at the front of the pack, she urged her horse forwards as she saw the rising wisps of smoke and her concern began to grow. Her concern soon grew to anger as she spotted the party responsible for this destruction, They were fairly evenly matched in number. They paused at the top of a hill looking down on the village "Captain, Rally the men of the Village. See that the woman and Children are escoted to Safety. Wait here till my signal" with that Anwyn rode towards the group that had attacked, pulling up her horse sharply "Who are you? What buisness do you have in these lands? Speak quickly, My patience is thin"

[Sophianna]

Sophianna left her own band of soldiers for a moment, riding out from amongst them to meet the lady that led the Rohirrim. "Your patience wears thin, does it? Well, then I will make myself known, and I shall do it quickly. I am Sophianna. I am on a mission for my lord." She bowed her head slightly, but on her lips was a trace of a smirk. Her steed stamped impatiently below her, and it was a good thing she had skill, for otherwise he would not be kept in one position.

[Anwyn]

Anwyn concealed her surprise as a woman moved forward to represent the pack of the barbarians that had tourched the village "Sophianna" she said clearly, adressing the woman as a person and not the one that had attacked the village "You may take the message to your lord that Rohan will not stand for such further attacks. Now, you may leave of your own accord, Or I shall remove you by force" Anwyn glanced behind her and saw the remaining women and children travelling in the opposite direction as the men were massing with what weapons they had. Removing her sword from her sheath, This was the signal the remaining riders charged forward and formed a solid wall behind her "The choice is yours" she said simply.

[Sophianna]

Sophianna held herself a bit taller on her steed and tilted her head, smirking. "As you wish." Her eyes swept over the line of troops behind the lady of Rohan. And though the fight could have been a fair one, her lord had told her to do nothing of the sort. So, with a final nod toward the queen, she turned her horse about. Briefly, Sophianna glanced over her shoulder. "T'was a pleasure meeting you." With a soft laugh she rode to gather her men and head off. She veered in slightly a different direction, in attempt to confuse the other soldiers as to from which direction they'd come. Later, they turned back on course and rode back to Enedwaith.

[Anwyn]

Anwyn watched as the peculiar women lead her men away, she waited until they were little more than a a hint of movement on the horizon, she wore a frown, there was much about that encounter that had felt wrong to her. The men of the village raised there voices and weapons, giving a cry of anger and relief. The Village would take sometime to rebuild, but there had been no loss of life.

With a heavy sigh, Anwyn dismounted as did her Soldiers and began to see to the wounded.

[Aidan]

Aidan, with ten men rode to the scene. "My queen, I came as soon as I heard, forgive my lateness!" he cried "I came as fast as I could."

[Anwyn]

Anwyn turned to Aidan, smiling gently "Do not fear, for there is nothing to forgive. This was only an isolated attack and we have already began to rebuild, The woman and children shall felt shelter at Edoras until there homes are once again rebuilt. This attack was most peculiar, they would be attackers were as gone as quicky as they had come" she said with a frown.

[Aidan]

"Hmmm, that is odd. Why bother coming all the way to Rohan for a simple raid?" he said with raised eyebrows.

[Anwyn]

"If I knew that, Then I indeed would no reason to be concerned with" Anwyn straightned and brushed herself off, looking into the horizon "I sense that are darker motives to this action. That woman told me that she came on part of her master...I wonder who she serves, Not one that is honourable would order a raid such as this. This knowledge alarms me the most"

[Aidan]

Aidan looked around. "Perhaps she or one of her servants left a clue?"
