The advance guard of the Host of the West had finally crossed into Enedwaith, their bright banners fluttering ahead of them, heralding their entrance to the land, as they looked ahead with faces eager for war. Aragorn rode in the forefront of the van, his pale sword gleaming, and his eyes ever darted ahead, looking in the distance to see the smoke of war.

Saeros visited once more his Realm in the south and enjoyed the changes Enedwaith made through. Nothing was left from the old cruelty and the people looked quite happily. He rode through the fields and saw fare ahead a large host with the banner of Gondor. Surprised he made speed to meet them. He spotted the King himself on top of his army and came close up with him. "Lord Aragorn, what brings you with your entire army to Enedwaith?" he asked surprise.

Aragorn lifted his hand and halted his host, peering at Saeros with a puzzled expression.
"Why, we have been informed that a vast host from the north has come to Enedwaith, a horde under the command of Dindaedel, for to take thy realm by force. 'Tis said he hath invaded Enedwaith - is this not sooth?"

Saeros widened his eyes in surprise. "No, everything is calm and quiet in Enedwaith. This realm has actually the calmest season ever it seems and grows to a second Ithilien, you might say." He suddenly looked concerned. "Who told you and why would somebody tell you we were in danger, my Lord?" He pointed at the host. "Who can be interested that you pull out so many men of your realm, and why?"

Aragorn's face paled, and at the last he was suddenly aware of all; and the magnitude of his own folly was revealed to him in a blinding flash, and all the devices of his enemies were at last laid bare. Then his wrath blazed in consuming flame, but his fear rose like a vast black smoke to choke him. For he knew his deadly peril and the thread upon which his doom now hung. His eyes suddenly swam with tears, and he gripped tighter upon the hilt of his sword.
"Dindaedel!" he cried, his voice crumbling with pain, "At the last we come to it, and either thy doom or mine is at hand! Saeros, with me! The rest of ye, follow as ye may! To Gondor! Away now, Roheryin! Run, greatheart, run as you have never run before! Run now! Hope is in speed!"
And with that he swung his steed about, and gave to him the spur, and with a great rear Roheryn leapt forth, and his feet cast fire upon the ground. As his Host looked on and made to follow, young Estel rode as the cold north wind, recking naught of speed, his eyes set upon the east, with Saeros madly hastening to catch. To Gondor now they came.

Saeros horse pranced and he took side with the King, turning one last time to his Steward, who came up from the city to the host and shouted: Gather half of the host of Enedwaith and call for the half of Imladris to meet me at Minas Tirith. The white city is in danger. Hurry!" And with the host of Aragorn, Saeros rode to Gondor in great haste.
