A scout returned to Garland and gave the news that Enedwaith had pulled most of its force to Gondor. Garland nodded his head and muttered, "Let it begin" Like lightning, thirty thousand elvish cavalry swarmed forward. They encircled the capital city of Enedwaith and began sending vollies of tens of thousand's of burning arrows over the walls. One team moved to the gate, hooked their horses to it with strong ropes and began pulling. Garland sat upon his steed overlooking the battle from a hill top. Enedwaith could not afford to be lost to the rule of Gondor or its puppet.

The steward of Enedwaith cursed silently the decision of his King to aid Gondor. The forces of Enedwaith were outnumbered double in count and even if the host of Rivendell on its way to Gondor was close at hand, they would loose more than they could afford. He had not much love either to this realm which had treated him so bad in the past and the sudden thought came to him surrender. The horns of the Walls sounded loud and a white flagg were rised. The forces of Garland stopped their firing and out rode the steward of Enedwaith to negotiate. He hold his white flagg up and waited in front of the gate for the leader of the enemy host.

Garland rode forward to meet the steward of Enedwaith. The battle was over it seemed before it had even begun. As a reward for the elf's quick decision to surrender he decided to let him keep his dignity and life. With out dismounting his horse he spoke to the elf. "Lay down your sword and bow before me. Instruct your men to leave this place with haste, and they and you shall live another day. Your men may keep their weapons, though nothing will be taken from Enedwaith, including siege weapons. You will agree to this I am sure." He looked at the elf and awaited his confirmatiion. If he dissagreed they would all meet their doom.

The Steward looked at Garland and throw his weapons down into the dust. "I agree," he said simply.

Garland smiled as the elf rode away and Enedwaith's force began it's withdraw. His own soldiers took up position in the city and began preparing their own defences and sweeping the streets to ensure all resistience was indeed gone. Within only a few hours Garland walked into his new throne room.
