A mountain in the north of Middle-Earth, lying at the meeting point of the Misty and the Grey Mountains. It was here that the Orcs of the northern world had their capital. When the Orcs gathered for a battle, this was a pivotal mountain, for it was not only where half of the Orcs of Angmar stood guard, but it played a role in the paths to many other realms via the mountains.
