Recalling the Numenorean tower of Isengard and the departure of Saruman, Doren decided to stop and rest at the tower and possibly seek alliance with it's leader held his or her own force that may make a difference in the events soon to transpire in Middle Earth. Turning East, Doren and his riders soon spied the large stone gates of Isengard. Doren dismounted his steed and walked to two heavily armored guards at the gate. Their helms disguised their faces and Doren could not distinguish that they were orcs, but their horrible stench was obvious. "I wish to speak with your master."

A dark cloud of smoke formed around the guards suddenly. They howled in deep pain, but after a few minutes, their decmposed bodies collapsed onto the ground. The gates opened slowly, and the mistress of Isengard stood in the opening. "I go through twenty a day. These ones were unworthy... What do you want?"

Doren looked down at the blackened armor and stench that wafted from the piles of what was once a living being "You just killed your own people because they were 'unworthy'? My lady are you Isengard's new keeper?"

"Dont be too quick to judge..." She responded cooly. Megloren walked over to one of the bodies and reached into the clothing/armour and pulled out a beautifull Elven necklace. "They stole, and they paid. Yes, I am Megloren Istdale- keeper of Angrenost. Why, what do you want?"

While thinking it somewhat harsh to punish subjects with death only for theft he understood that stealing from a queen was often not taken lightly. Doren dismissed the thought rather reluctantly and nodded to Megloren. "Lady Megloren I am Lord Doren of Arnor, and I come seeking alliance with the keeper of Isengard."

"And what exactly do you expect Angrenost do for Arnor and vice versa? We have no supplies that interest you, and you know this. What you seek is our aid in battle, for you also know Angmar has its eye on Arnor for the barrows."

"What? Angmar is home only a small renegade group of mindless orcs is it not? I seek aid in battles that may be soon to come for my home is surrounded by the wild men of Dunland, the Goblins still infesting Moria, and possibly the renegade orcs of the Northern Misty Mountains, but why would Angmar want to interfere with anything in Arnor's burial grounds?"
Megloren stepped behind the gates quickly before they began to shut "I am sorry but Isengard will not aid you, Doren." With that she walked back into Orthanc.
Doren stood aghast and confused. He would find more answers to Megloren's predictions at Lothlorien, or he hoped that he would. He began his ride to Loria early the next morning after camping in the Eaves of Fangorn. Soon the Golden Woods were in sight.
