"Because he sings."

"The tree sings? I've never heard of such a thing. Legend tells of a singing man named Old Tom Bombadil who lives on the edge of the forest with the river spirit Goldberry, but I have never heard of a tree that sings! How should you know this, Lady Siranna? You hail from Mirkwood do you not? Do you visit Arnor often?"

"All trees sing my lord. All tale tales of the forests and of it's life. However so few hear because few are willing to listen. The trees have magnifiscent songs, so old and wise they are, they can easily soothe a troubled mind or heart of the living."

"Such a wise elf! I suppose I never thought of a 'singing tree'. Perhaps I need to listen." Doren dismounted his steed and allowed him to grase while he walked towards a large mossy tree and put his ear to it's trunk. After a moment of listening Doren walked away from the tree to Siranna puzzled "I couldn't hear anything."

Siranna laughed. "Not like that silly." She sat down and leaned against a tree and closed her eyes like she was resting. "It's something you hear and feel in the heart. Over time the notes form in your head along with the words of the trees. The trees have a mind of their own and speak to who they wish to speak to and are heard by those they to be heard by."

"I can't imagine a tree wanting to talk with me. It would probably just tell me not to put my face on it again. Oh well. I suppose I'll never be fortunate enough to have a conversation with a tree.",he said sarcastically

Siranna opened her eyes to look at him. "Heh. Maybe, maybe not. Only time will tell. So, what are you doing in this neck of the woods?"

"I was travelling in the Shire, overseeing the exchange for bountiful halflings leaf. The traders departed with their carts back to the Northern cities of Arnor such as Fornost and Annuminas. I did not wish to leave just yet- being King of Arnor is difficult job and I was not as eager to return to Annuminas- so I decided to ride my horse, Glambetil, through Hobbiton. I came to the eastern borders of The Shire when the Old Forest came into view. I thought to myself that I had not visited the forest in quite some time so I decided to take a leisurely ride through the trees."

Siranna smiled. "And it is always nice to meet the lord of a wonderous realm."

"I suppose I did mention that didn't I. There is no avoiding it, I suppose. I just don't like new people that I meet to know right away because it makes them feel somewhat inferior. I lose more friendships that way."

She stiffled a laughter."I've never felt that. I don't measure by the station of a man but by their heart. To me, a poor man that cherishes his life as it is and family as they are, the richest and most superior man there is."

"I should try and become aquainted with more elves! I rarely speak with the peasants. Wonderful people I am sure as many of my subjects are, but the only real time I speak with them is when they come with plees to the throne. I can't quel each of their troubles and they expect me too. On occasion I don't beleive I am fit to lead so many people."
