An ancient colony in Eriador shared by Hobbits and Men. Far older than the Shire, it was from Bree that the two Fallohides, Marcho and Blanco, set out to found that land.

Doren and the knights rode into Bree and gathered three villagers. Each was given a Sword of Westerness as were the knights. They rented eight horses from the stables and began the ride back to the downs.

The gates of Bree were closed after word came to Annuminas that Arnor would defend themselves at any moment. The soldiers stationed there were to be ready for assult unless word came from the North that the enemy was pressing from the Northern cities down.
The cities mood did not change. People were still walking about the city happily often visiting the local inn. The damp of a recent rain still hung in the air and the moonlight shined on the sparkling streets.
