Alatariel was completely confused by this point and turned her head fully to face him. "My wedding in Gondor?" She leaned back, supporting herself with her arms, and suddenly remembered that her sister was residing in Gondor. Her sister must have been getting married. Great...now what was she to do. "I believe you have mistaken me for someone else...I had no weddign in Gondor." She responded simply.

"I witnessed you're wedding, E'vesash... I saw the ring and the ceremony. You did have a wedding. You're name is E'vesash is it not?" Doren was now very confused, almost infuriated by the bold contradiction to what clearly happened. "Are you who you claim to be?"

Alatariel's breathing quickened as Doren's accusations hit home. What would she say? What could she say? She'd definitely dug herself into a whole this time, and she hated it. Her eyes flashed briefly in irritation and anger at her situation. "What are you talking about!" She stood and glanced about her, trying to decide what to do. "Of course I'm who I say I am...you must have me confused with someone else. After all, I am here in Mirkwood, how could I have recently had a wedding in Gondor."

"I should ask you the same question. Why are you away from your husband at such a time as this and do you even know his name? If he really is your husband you should know because you cannot deny the fact that you were married if you truly are the Lady E'vesash."

Alatariel folded her arms and turned away from him. How could her plan have so horribly backfired on her? "Of course I would know my own husband's name if I truly had one...but I do not. I did not have a wedding in Gondor." She paused before adding, "My name is Alatariel." She flipped her hair over her shoulder with a quick turn of her head, but she did not look at him...she was too angry.

Doren closed his eyes and sighd before shifting the meat's position. He stared quietly at the flame for some time, it's image dancing in his eyes. The Lady E'vesash truly hadn't known him. The one he had spoken with at Annuminas was an imposter. But E'vesash had no high military position or riches at her disposal. Why would one want to be E'vesash? "Why did you pretend?"

Alatariel glanced toward him and raised a brow before turning away. "Why does anyone pretend?" She asked solemnly...though not expecting an answer. "But as for me...why does it matter? You have found me out - is that not the important thing." Her dark eyes were cast to the ground as she contemplated her own situation, trying to figure out how she had gotten in such a mess...

Doren laughed and turned to her with an increasing anger and curiosity in his eyes. "Well you highly resemble her. Is that some fell sorcery aswell?" One would wish to know the connection between the two of you. What does she have that you crave?"

Alatariel tilted her head as she listened with her back to him. Finally she turned about, irritation glinting in her eyes. "No, it is not some fell sorcery." She replied sharply. At his last question she laughed. "She has nothing that I crave...nothing." She folded her arms once more and turned from him, content to gaze into the fire...something she was often used to seeing for she lived in the land of Mordor.

A look of sadness finally found it's way into Doren's heart. Obviously this was not a happy person. Here she sat denying everything that he asked her and yet she had to turn away from him so that he would not see the sadness in her eyes. Something troubled this woman deeply whether she would admit it to herself or not. "Then why?"

Alatariel gave a sigh of frustration as she turned about to face him, something she had done nearly an uncountable number of times. "Why does it matter to you? The situation does not concern you...so why do you not leave well enough alone?" She was tired of acting like her sister. It irritated her. It felt good to be herself again, to be able to be irritated and angry. That was who she was. She was on the side of darkness after all...

"Because if you aren't E'vesash then I feel like I don't know you. I want to know who you are. I just don't like it when people lie to me. Things can be much easier if everyone just tells the truth." Doren thought of the obsurdity of his statement. Here he was, A Dunedain Ranger. He was one who travelled under an alias often and who gave his name to few lest he needed to. The life of a ranger was one of lies and deceit. He was just now realizing that.

Alatariel shook her head. "You know who I am." She paused. "My name is Alatariel...is that not enough?" She pulled her dark gloves back onto her hands and straightened her thick cloak about her shoulders. After pulling her hair back over her shoulders she returned her gaze to Doren, apparantly getting ready to leave when the moment provided itself.

"Well yes, I know your name but I don't know you. I don't know who you are. I think you know some things about me and I think I might know some things about E'vesash but I would really like to get to know Alatariel." Doren then looked down towards the two sticks wich the meat was being cooked on and realized that they were done. He took one from the fire and handed it to Alatariel and then grabbed on for himself. "Eat. If you really wish to leave then you need your energy. I'm sure it will be a long ride back to wherever you're from."

Alatariel was somewhat surprised by his commanding tone, and she took the meat and seated herself firmly without a single word. She ate for a while in silence, listening as the fire crackled and popped in the stillness of the night. She watched Doren through the corner of her eye...he was definitely angry at her. But not as angry as she was at herself for being so stupid as to give her plot away. Not that it really mattered...well, of course it mattered. But maybe it wasn't so important right now.
Alatariel shook her head, trying to rid her mind of such conflicting thoughts and ideas. War in reality was enough...she didn't need a war in her thoughts as well. "You want to know about me?" She asked, though did not wait for a response. "There is not much to tell without boring you. I basically have lived on my own my entire life thus far...my companion is my steed, none other. He is all I have needed, and all I will need." She paused and gave a shrug. "I suppose thus is the story of my life. Not much else of importance has happened."
