The pieces were in place. Scouts confirmed that each of the aggressors had taken their places. Valdrik sat atop his steed alongside Sophianna upon her's, looking over the lake from a hilltop. Behind them and out of sight were the legion, his entire division of heavy Infantry. The hilltop was well out of the reach of the Watcher's tenticles, yet, the catapults were well within reach of the Hollin Gate. Along side the catapults sat large balistas, loaded with barbed, steel tipped harpoons. Valdrik turned to Sophianna with a grin, "Shall we knock and see if the lord of the mountain is home?" He held up his sword and dropped it pointing toward the gate signaling a group of ten men forward with a large battering ram. With a mighty shoved the men thrust it forward, sending dust flying around the gates hinges as an echoing thud resounded through out the mines. War was upon Cile Dinaedel... there would be no dawn for the wayward son of Morsereg.

As the battering ram moved forward through the water, the Watcher made it's move. Tentacles flew wildly from it's watery slumber as it awoke and began smashing the intruding battering ram ruthlessly until all who weilded it were destroyed and the ram itself was dragged underwater where the water became still once more.
From the small cracks and crevices the flaming archer goblins took their place, read to assail the enemy. Up above the Mountain Giants prepared themselves, fitted with strong armour. They remained out of site for the time being.

There was a loud commotion within the mountains as Cile himself called back the Mountain giants and the goblins retreated back into their mountain halls leaving the Hollin silent. The prized soldiers of Cile were moving south as the dark prince abandoned Moria.
The men assembled by Valdrik moved forth after a moment of curious waiting and the doors of Moria were opened, an orc of Mordor standing on the threshold. "Enter masters!" he cried with in insidious smirk and bounded back into the mountain halls.

Valdrik smirked and turned to Sophianna. "It seems our forces will not get their workout today.... unfortunate." He then spurred his horse and rode forward to the gate where he dismounted and followed the Mordorian oruk to it's master.
