High in Northern Rhun lays the grand encampments of the Imperial Easterlings Warriors. These are the warriors mustered for war by the high lord himself, one whose face has seldom been seen among his people in recent days for he was the murderer of Khaldun, the former king, and a deadly assassin as they said.
In times of war he would call forth his armies 33,000 strong. Their factions included:
5,000 Easterlings of Dorwinion- The Easterlings of Dorwinion were skilled craftsmen of their time and made bows of various shapes and sizes. They took pride in the fine art of archery and were renowned throughout all of Rhun for their skills with a bow. It was Easterlings tradition to have a Dowinion Archer fire a rushi arrow, an explosive, thin and versatile that would explode with a variety of colors. This action would begin the battle and put a trust of victory into the Easterling hearts.
The standard Dorwinion Archer is often adorned in light leather materials, enforced with chain male here and there at vital points such as the neck. It was not customary to wear a helm to battle in Dorwinion, but instead to adorn their faces in fierceome war paint for all of their enemies to see.
8,000 Wain Riders of Rhun-
The wain riders are the prizes of Rhun, the famed wain riders of lore who hindered Gondor so in their advances upon the Haradrim terrain. These riders carry themselves upon mighty wains with hatred in their hearts. Heavy is their armor and in their hands they wield great pole-arms, long and sharp. Their Easterling armor is made up ornate chain male, dragon scales perhaps, for it shone green in the sun and blue in the moon, and it was harder than any metal. In their opposite hand they held round Easterling shields with a single spike protruding from the center for warding off those who would ride alongside them and attempt to hinder their progress.
Their wains are drawn forth by mighty horses, steeds of the Nuriag breed. While the grand tribes of the Nuriag were not as skilled as the Variag horsemen of Khand, they bred formidable stallions nonetheless.
10,000 Imperial Warriors of Riavod-
Mighty soldiers armed with scimitars in one hand and often a pike in the other of sinister design known only to the smiths of the great cities. The pikes were not so long as to be totally useless in close quarters combat and nigh onto the blade at its tip, there was a scythe protruding from the upper shaft that extended over the tip of the primary blade as the hook flesh and tear it cruelly from the body of a horse or any other unlucky enemy that should come into contact with it.
5,000 Ishi Orga -Pirates of Rhun's Seas-
The fierce pirates of Rhun, these men are the the scurvy royal navy of the king. They are truly outlaws and ruffians but under Alcorad's rule he has given these men who are so skilled at what they do freedom from the law. Without legal bindings to hinder them, they do as they please and only increase their bloodlust
Their fleets of ships are many for with each ship being manned with ten men, their is a grand total of 500 ships that a similar to various vessels such as progs and palantrists, elven designs given a hint of Easterling flare.
Upon the vessels are manned ballistas, siege engines in the form of a large crossbow that hurl massive bolts at the enemy. By rapping the spears of these bolts in cloth and soaking them in oil to light them with flame, they increase their damage ratio against the enemy to a maximum proportion.
The pirates are adorned in light leather trappings with male here and there, very similar to the coastal archers of Dorwinion. At their sides they wield scimitars and a dagger to be used as a last resort.
5,000 Gumi of the Hisharugi Wood
Guni are warriors of stealth often garbed in light, black outfits to move quickly about the shadows without being noticed. They seldom wear shoes save leather ones, tight to the feet and wield small throwing knives and needles used to kill enemies from afar. They are the elites as strange as it may seem, and know all of the vital points of the enemy. No matter how much armor you wear or how skilled you are, they will find you and they will kill you using their martial arts.
