Come now, most of us must have something that we drew from to create the characters on here that we love.
Now, I ask you, what did you draw on?
Myself, for Morsereg, it seems to be a mix: - Sephiroth, from Final Fantasy VII - - Hades, Greek God of the Underworld - - Hekate, Greek Goddess of Magick - - Alucard, from the anime series Hellsing - - Dracula. You all know who Dracula is - - Jafar, from Aladdin - - Maleficent, from Sleeping Beauty -
There could possibly be more, I'll add to the list when need arises. Some reasons are more discreet than others.
Yes, I admit, some Disney villains inspire my charra as well. I mean, come on, you didn't get that from "Now you shall deal with me, oh emissary, and all the powers of Udun!" ?? I mean, honestly. I would have put Hell but it seemed uncanonical in LOTR.
Oh, and while we're on the note of Sephiroth...Lance Bass of *NSYNC must die. (I want to cry ,LMAO Lance Bass voices Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts T_T Poor Sephy.)

That's a serious blow to the Seph lovers of the world, Tony. Ugh, I shudder at the thought of it!
Let's see: I guess obviously Aragorn, but also probably a bit of Shakespearean propriety with his speech, Nick Gillard with his fighting, and just my own genuine over-romanticised (the old use of the word) writing style.

I've done so many people, they seem to grow, as I play them. I like the idea of some-one being brilliant, dangerous, sexy, pitiless, pagan and amoral . Some-one who is so self-possessed they actually don't give a sh*t about what others think about them, or need any props. Some attributes are from books I've read, or an amalgam of characters , or simply an idea. Raithen is somewhat Apollo like, I suppose. Also like a particular character in a David Gemmell book, who was brilliant, skilled and mad as a spoon.

Really intresting thread by the way I hate to say this, becuase from my experience every female character played in a LOTR RPG is based on Eowyn on the fact that there is a female in that age that is not afraid to bare arms "Women of this county learned a long time ago those without swords can still die upon them. I fear neither death nor pain" I have used the same character for quite some years ago, The first time being on a SW site that has a RPG boards as well. Anwyn started off as being a really bitter female ranger who had forsaken her family to become a ranger and wander the wilds on her own. Since then the character has really grown and is not so bitter and bristly to mroe gentle and femine. I've tried to play other characters but find it difficult since I have put alot of my own characteristics into this one, Its not really hard to know how she would react becuase its how I would react as well. As far as a Character Influence goes from other Series, I would have to go with... Eowyn-For reasons already explained. Mara Jade- A star wars character who knows exactly what she wants, and isn't afraid to go and get it. Emma Woodhouse- A Jane Austen Character who means well, and does her best but does not always suceed. Elizabeth Bennett- Another Jane Austen Character who was really ahead of her time. Intelligent but at the same time extremely vunerable.

Mara Jade was cool, lol, I used to read alot of SW's books. As for my characters go, hmm, I don't really know, I've played as so many different ones its hard to say. I guess there is a little or alot of me in them all. When I play a goodguy its usually alot like Eomer mostly, but lately I've just been being evil and I'm not sure who I could say they are catered after.

So, Ill use Orre for this one since Cile's inspiration is painfully clear.
For Orre, I have to thank Tony and his interesting story on how Morsereg is the vassal of Mandos. I like the whole aspect of the greatest beings ever fighing it out not directly, but instead with minions of sorts.
Another inspiration was Gandalf. I took his way of seeing wisdom and life in general and used it for Orre, because he isnt like the Dwarves in bluntness and greed, despite his appearence. So thus, I tried to make him the oposite of Gimli in that aspect, but alike in the ways of battle. So I supose Gimli was another also...
