It's basically a topic because I'm bored, and you can get to know other peoples musical interests and the like. So, what song are you listening to in moment? With me, it's "Dragula" by Rob Zombie. Its catchy to the point of, I'm going aroundthe house singing it. And I don't usually sing.

"Everything Burns" By Anatascia and Ben Moody
On Christmas eve I split up with a guy I had been going with for 3 years and the song really describes my mood
All of this faith And all of this pain Burning all down Cause my anger reigns

Macy's Day Parade - Green Day
I like old Green Day, it's just a little different but it's much cooler to me.

LOL I like old Green Day, cause it's NOT like, uber-mainstream, ya know? If it's SEMI-mainstream (Old Green Day (during Nimrod they were about semi-mainstream), MCR, Nickelback, some stuff like that), I will stomach listening to it. But, once a band releases an album that is UBER-mainstream, that EVERYONE knows, I will drop it. I liked the American Idiot CD when it first came out...and then everyone started learning the words to Wake Me Up When September Ends and then moved to the other songs, and now everyone thinks they're a Rocker cuz they like Green Day, and I name off a couple bands (like friggin IRON MAIDEN) and they don't know who they are. (Some of 'em probably have never heard of Queen, or Van Halen, either.)
Now, after my rant...
2 Minutes To Midnight by Iron Maiden.
(lmao at New Years, at 11:58 I started singing this. I got some stares)

I know just what you mean, dude, though with me for some reason I tend to like music that's not mainstream just cuz my taste seems to be different from the masses. Though, I must admit, I do love System of a Down. But I love wierd stuff that not many people have heard of, like Cat Stevens, or Simon and Garfunkle, etc. I am also a HUGE soundtrack buff, with a speciality in the music of John Williams. Even wrote a research paper on him in high school. Don't ever get me started on how well-deserved his first Oscar was, or you'll get a whole dissertation of the music of Star Wars Episode IV, and how it relates to film music overall, the indiviuality of the score, how it fit the film, etc.
Dammit, there I go!

**muffled from inside closet** I love Episode IV! =P **giggly** But seriously. Wake Me Up When September Ends is horrible and almost all the songs on "American Idiot". Warning has some ok songs - Blood, Sex, and Booze is ok, and Misery I sort of like. But I haven't listened to them in ages. To me, Green Day is nothing more than a band of blithering liberal idiots who fake an accent. I haven't removed them from my collection, but I think Nightwish may get its spot. =P
Within Temptation - It's the Fear
I can't find anyone around here who listens to the same music as me (except one reeeaaally annoying boy who listens to Rammstein). They all go "who's that?" becuase all anyone around here listens to is rap and hip-hop. And pardon me, but that's not quite music. I like soundtracks too, now I want the Monty Python and the Holy grail soundtrack (the music is great! xD) or the fiddle solos form the Tom Sawyer CD (don't ask).

Dude, don't even get me started on rap and hip-hop! If you listen to popular music 20 years ago, and popular music today, the difference is staggering. Not only because of the style, but the musical quality. I'm playing Hotel California right this second, and that minute-long intro with the wailing acoustic guitar was done BY HAND! By a musician, not a technician slurping an Icee while he's mixing pre-recorded stuff or creating electronic sounds on a computer program. There's still music like that today, but it's not what popular. Rap and hip-hop are NOT music.
