Okay, I am posting this with the permission of my partner, who is Cerridwen. Without going into too much detail, she suffers from long term depression and anxiety, and sometimes needs care and help. As a personal family situation is unsettling her - over the last few months - she did not feel like role- playing, I also began a new job, and I have other agendas, like a growing daughter, who comes round a lot to visit.
But we've decided to basically knock any sites we were on save one or two, on the head, and come back here. I'll be rp-ing a bit with her to help her gain confidence again. I did not mean to leave for good anwyay, but some times RL gets you in an arm lock, and it cannot be avoided.
I'm going to start afresh, ( still using my old threads though) as my time is still limited, I have a few ideas to start unrolling. So, see you round.

Okay, I am posting this with the permission of my partner, who is Cerridwen. Without going into too much detail, she suffers from long term depression and anxiety I am myself recovering from a heavy depressive episode in moment and some other here know depression very well themself, too. So don't worry we all understand and support that you need to help Cerridwen and that she is not able to play. I hope the dark days will lighten again for her soon. Take care of her and yourself! Please do not involve me in any battles, at the moment, or attacks. I know this board is not like others, but I spend most of my rp on other sites, strenously avoiding those pointlessly stupid battles and refusing '' alliances '', which then means your '' ally '' gets in a battle and calls for aid, and you're going to sleep reading posts where people are arguing about every single troop disposition, attack, counterattack and even the weight of rocks hurled by ballistae. I can't be arsed. I like deep storylines and quests, and conversations which are interesting, and I am trying to build that up, after this hiatus. Characters, histories, personalities, etc, etc, and for now that is what I am going to do. I do not mind a character coming and talking to me, or insulting me, or even attacking me, but writing responses to a battle move ties me up, and I just get bored with it.
I've also noticed, elsewhere, ( in fact, many '' elsewheres '' ) that : It does not matter how long a post is, or how much effort goes into describing how a person positions their troops, or what they do, no bugger ever reads it, and then they post something which contradicts it, and then it all goes pear shaped, it's put me off. And this isn't me, it's been some people on other sites who spend time and know their tactics and strategy, doing long posts, and they might as well not have bothered , because no-one reads them. they'll just post what they feel like. Even if flaming tar has been catapualted all over them, because they made no contingency against it, and it's quite feasible, they'll suddenly become flameproof.
Stupid.
So.. a gentle re-start, other things can happen as time goes on. I'm going to go on some travels, which are going to be prior to the story I am going to be working on with Maglor, though I'll be posting them silmultaneously.

I no bugger ever reads it, and then they post something which contradicts it, and then it all goes pear shaped, it's put me off. Well, its not much left from the old guard one year before, so I don't know how it is handled recently - but in the old time of CoG, all bugger always read it and Aaron was famous for very long and detailed postings. I don't think that changed. Means - don't worry. Aaron is on vacation and this place dying slowly or what? Where are the other Admins? Corey is excused, busy like a bee getting a job and feeding kids, but hey Tony where are you? Get your bum over here and let us work! |

Gaurwyn, it was not this site I was referring to, but if you have people joining from other sites, I can see the battles going the same way.
I know battles on here can be very good, and not degenerate into bickering, I read one, ages ago.

Getting back into the swing of things with school and all. Hummm...Considering circumstances (such as about most of the Tournament coming from Saeren's computer) I believe I'll talk to Aaron once he returns and ask if we'll disband the tournament for now to be restarted at a later date when we have more members or what he prefers to do... |
