She was shattered, and her face remotely, icily stern as she looked at Maglor. '' We stay here. If you desire to see your son again '' She said, without emotion, while her heart bled. '' I should have known... I was indeed a fool. We wait for my brother, '' She sat down abruptly, as if strings had been cut and her hair poured to the floor, over her still face. She did not weep. Some things were too deep for any tears.

Saeren has my son..? And has had him since then.... Through the shame, grief , dispar and ennui of the Ages, something broke in Maglor then, searing through it like molten lava through ice, colour flushed across his marble-pale face and his eyes blazed. '' Your brother has my son. '' he said aloud, his voice stripped of melody by the crack of hatred. He spun around, as if Saeren was close, his aura tinged with red . '' Saeren! Damn you! Where is my son? '' His voice echoed across the silent valley, as if it would reach to the ends of the earth. Beneath his hands, the balcony railing splintered.

I looked after your son, Makalaure, very well, in fact, as you will see. Do not fret, you will see him, soon enough
Saeren journeyed northward. Like his father, he could shift into other shapes, although he rarely took the forms Sauron had used, out of principle, wolves, bats, he chose other shapes. Imladris lay under a crescent moon. Warriors were abroad, but he was not entering the valley, he sent forth into his daughters and Maglors minds to meet him at the Fords of Bruinen. The water sounded cold, rushing over its stones, in the darkness, as Saeren set his shoulders to the broadside of an oak and waited, as if he had all the time in the world, meeting a friend for a quiet talk. The leaves whispered above him. he was Elvish enough to hear rhythm, and meaning in the leaves, a withdrawing from him, and he smiled , faintly, and darkly, in the shadows.

It was summer and the river which in winter, or after heavy rains, could be a raging torrent, was as low as it ever got, water-rounded boulders rising like bald pates from its glimmering surface. Maglor , reaching the further shore, leapt from one rock to another. The waiting had been long , and fretted already furious nerves, but now he knew Saeren was here, he hastened. At first he saw nothing beyond , but he sould sense Saeren, he knew the feel of his presence well enough. His head came up like a hounds to the scent.

Cerridwen came beside him, she knew Saeren was here, Even more surely than Maglor. It had taken all her powers to keep Maglor in Imladris, but she had enjoyed his anger, she had no use for gentle men , no use , in fact for any man who was not beautiful, and fiery . She also knew that it would annoy her twin, which would make him wild too. And deep within herself, she craved that.
However, if she could have got Maglor away, and unknowing, and sailed overseas, she would, but the Feanoreans were stubborn as dwarves. And he was obsessed with seeing his son. As for herself, she too longed to see Maedion, but she could not even imagine what these millenia under Saeren had done to the young elf she had known. And what it will continue to do...to all of us... '' Sidhe, Lord Maglor, he is here, '' She laid a hand on his arm as she walked toward a stand of trees. '' Saeren...'' Her throat felt dry, every time she was close to him, it did this, always, the leap of the pulse, the shiver that ran all through her, the sheer excitement.

'' Aiya, my beauties, '' Murmured Saeren, his eyes visible first, as intense gold lights, in the gloom. '' come on then, '' he turned casually, as if they were off for a jaunt , his steps soundless and casual on the grass. His mind reached out, slipping easily, effortlessly into Maglors, knowing him so well, he did not want to fight the Noldo every step of the way. But even this was a perpetual, and long fight, for Maglor was enraged and madly resisting. Save it! We have far to go, save your temper!

Cerridwen added her own powers to her twins. She rarely used such powers as she possessed, and never for coercion, instead she lay a drugging serenity over the Noldo's battling mind. The most important thing, for both she and Maglor was to see their son, for Maglor to exhaust himself in mental or physical contention with Saeren would be futile, and wasteful, and she could see that he would fight, and never stop until he dropped from sheer fatigue. Other than that, they rarely spoke at all on all that long journey, by land and by sea. When she had time she would think of the implications of this, but for this time her mind must be bent only on this one task.

Can you see whay he's so bloody exciting, he never gives up Then the eyes changed colour, from gold, into a colour like lava, And you, my dear, you can also wait, until more salubrious surroundings. There was a threat and a promise in those silent , mental words.
