Why: Because since there are no caves of Rohan, the only logical place for GImli to be is Erebor.
Experience: RPed at about a billion sites, over and over, ranging from SW, POTC and LOTr, to anything as remote as just looking at Matrix sites. Read the books, yadda yadda yadda, I live breathe and think LOTr.
Sample: "Alright Legolas, I've got the big one, you can stick with the scrawny necks."
Legolas nodded silently, watching the large warg rushing towards Gimli. Its hair standing on end, and saliva falling from its jaws, coming to feast on the flesh of the dwarf.
"Come on little one, lets see what you've got."
The warg rushed GImli, leaping and slashing with its large claws, falling forward as Gimli's axe came ripping down into its skull, cleaving it in two.
Gimli laughed out loud, holding up two bloody fingers, "That makes two Legolas."
As GImli as yelping in pleasure, an orc approached from behind, sword drawn, laughing hideously as the blade came down with force and speed, hitting upon Gimli's hard helmet.
The dwarf let out a deep groan, putting both hands on his head, growling in agony. But suddenly, he reached to his back, grabbing a short axe, he spun around, throwing the blade sideways into the ravaging attacker.
The steel lodged in the orc's belly, sending blood and flesh flying as Gimli grabbed the hilt, ripping it out with a triumphant roar.
"Three Legolas. They're all swimming in blood by now..."

Reason: Aaron, you know WHY. Because I had it on the old site, and was known on the other site as the "Resident Ringwraith Expert"
LOtR Experience: Read The Hobbit, the trilogy, Silmarillion, Book of Lost Tales 2, Seen all LOTR movies [+ extended editions], read "The Return of the Shadow" and "The Treason of Isengard", have done extensive research on the darker aspects of Tolkien's world [ex: Ringwraiths, Balrogs, Morgoth, Sauron, Angmar, Harad, Mordor, Rhun, ect.]
Other RP Experience: Have been message-board RPing for around a year and a half now, have been roleplaying + writing my own stories for around 4 years.
Finally a site void of the ugliness of V4.
