Hey guys i might make a new LotR forum but there is some scepticism about the guidelines I would set for it. It is a strictly cannon board, with some exceptions, that is set in the fifth age. The exceptions are that elves have repopulated after the fall of Sauron and Orcs still roam the countryside. More could be made after discussion such as further creatures like Drows but nothing too extreme. All happenings in the Fourth Age as recorded by Tolkein are to be strictly followed and taken into account:
7 Death of Hamfast 'Gaffer' Gamgee.
13 Death of Paladin Took II. Peregrin Took becomes Thain of the Shire.
15 Death of Glóin son of Gróin, the father of Gimli Elf-friend.
31 Buckland and the Westmarch are officially incorporated into the Shire.
33 Birth of Sam Gamgee's grandson Elfstan Fairbairn.
34 Likely date of the death of Imrahil of Dol Amroth.
61 September After the death of his wife Rose, Sam Gamgee departs over the Sea.
63 Spring Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took depart the Shire and travel into the south; Faramir I succeeds his father Peregrin as Thain of the Shire.
Autumn Death of King Éomer of Rohan. He is succeeded by his son Elfwine.
82 Death of Faramir, Steward to Aragorn.
91 Apparent date of death of Dwalin, at the extraordinary age of 340.
120 Death of King Aragorn II Elessar of Gondor. He is succeeded by his son Eldarion.
Departure of Legolas and Gimli.
121 Death of Arwen Evenstar in Lórien.
172 A copy of the Red Book of Westmarch is completed in Gondor by Findegil.
The forum would strictly follow those guidelines aswell as the guidlines of the Third, Second, and First age as may be viewed here. www.glyphweb.com/arda/
The Realms would need to have the kings and queens that they would or would not have in the fifth age. For example
Gondor: Eldarion
Rohan: Elfwine
Arnor: Open (I know Eldarion would rule it but only one leader for a realm unless they conquer it.)
Angrenost: Open
Forodwaith: Open
Rhun: Open
Haradwaith: Open
Enedwaith: Open
Khand: Open
Erebor: Durin VII
Iron Hills: Open (I know Durin VII would rule it but only one realm to lead unless they conquer another)
Belegost: Open
Khazad-Dum: Open
Nogrod: Open
Aglarond: Open
Mirkwood: Open
Lorien: Open
Rivendell: Open
Eregion: Open
Mithlond: Open
Mordor: Open
Angmar: Open
The Grey Mountains: Open
Whoever would take up role as Eldarion, Elfwine, or Durin VII may develope there personality as they see fit but must be logical and consider their upbringing.
All realms may be good or evil to their preference aside from the three who have been given designated leaders. Those three must be good. Tell me what you think of this idea and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
