that be from The Three Musketeers.
You have conquered, and I yield. Yet, henceforward, art thou also dead - - dead to the World, to Heaven, and to Hope! In me didst thou exist - - and, in my death, see by this image, which is thine own, how utterly thou hast murdered thyself.

Edgar Alan Poe
I have a collection at home. lol No chance to miss that one. Well, lets see... ah, I know... hehe...
Here comes hopefully a tough one, lets see if you get it:
Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the universe, are challenged by this point of pale light.

Carl Sagan - no doubt there...*thinks again*...
May the curse of the widow–the curse of the brave– The curse of the fatherless, cleave to thy grave! And the words which they spake with their last dying breath, Embitter the pangs and the tortures of death!

Sir Alfred Tennyson, even at 4.30 AM I recognize him. lol
Okay, an easy one for an easy one, I am to lazy for searching: Digressions, objections, delight in mockery, carefree mistrust are signs of health; everything unconditional belongs in pathology.

LOL, talk about predictable...Nietzsche again...how about this one, then. Think very carefully ere you try and answer... For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast, And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed; And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill, And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!

And there lay the steed with his nostrils all wide, But through it there rolled not the breath of his pride: And the foam of his gasping lay white on the turf, And cold as the spray of the rock-beating surf.
And there lay the rider distorted and pale, With the dew on his brow and the rust on his mail; And the tents were all silent, the banners alone, The lances unlifted, the trumpet unblown.
And the widows of Ashur are loud in their wail, And the idols are broke in the temple of Baal; And the might of the Gentile, unsmote by the sword, Hath melted like snow in the glance of the Lord!
Lord Byron
mhmm, my brain boils. Let me think... Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws.

Plato, that was - a good try, though...
An intelligent observation of the facts of human existence will reveal to shallow-minded folk who sneer at the use of coincidence in the arts of fiction and drama that life itself is little more than a series of coincidences.

After googling I found it in "Captain Blood" by Rafael Sabatini. Okay, I don't know that book nor its author, but that was what it said. lol
Okay, whats about this one: "Not only does God play dice, but... he sometimes throws them where they cannot be seen."

Stephen Hawking.
New Quote, from one of my favorite books: A ribbon of blood curled from Dart's head and trailed glistening across the floor. She jabbed the barrel into his forehead and for what seemed a long time applied pressure to the trigger, released it, pressed it again .The idea of touching him made her stomach cramp.
I could have found a better paragraph, but the ones I liked gave away too many names. When someone gets the answer, people, remember it, for I recommend this book, it's a great and horrific tale. And no, don't worry, I didn't just spoil the ending with that paragraph, if I had gone a little farther I could have though.

"Angels and Demons can't cross over into our plane. So, instead we get what I call half-breeds. The influence peddlers. They can only whisper in our ears. A single word can give you courage, or turn your favorite pleasure into your worst nightmare. Those with the demon's touch and those part angel, living alongside us. They call it the balance. I call it hypocritical bullshit."
