"Under the flag of Moria, thou sayest? Well, then we are halted fast - Lord Garland has professed allegiance to Gondor." Aragorn sighed, and stretched himself at length upon the bed. "Well, my vanimelda, little else shall we glean from this ordeal. We must remain vigilant and wary, and do our utmost to unravel this mystery ere long. But not this evening. I am weary, and sure that thou art as well, after enduring my harsh railment against thee. To bed with us, then, and we shall take solace in sleep. Come to me, dear one!"

Arwen smiled at him in pitty. "You must be tired and sore after the chase and everything." She kissed him swift on his forehead and went to change into her night dress and brush her hair and finally she layed beside him.

Aragorn yawned widely, and smiled as he watched his lovely bride change for bedtime, and caressed her hair as she laid her tender body down beside him. He gazed into her eyes and kissed each of them, smiling at her. She grinned back and kissed him deeply, and he leaned around to put out the lamp, then turned back to his wife with an even bigger smile.
The night passed, and though they fell asleep, it was not as soon as Aragorn and Arwen had first planned, but they did not mind.

some time later...
Aragorn and Arwen woke up early. It was a beautifull day and they decided to take a walk through the city before Aragorn had to do his day's business. The walked through the streets and hold each others hand. The kitchen staff had confirmed that she was been called that night when the documents were stolen and nobody had seen Vaire leaving the white City. Messengers to the other Realms had brought no further information and so all what stand on Arwens side was just the trust of her husband into her. She was glad to have his believe, but also there was still standing something between them.
Now they walked through the city like nothing ever had changed and they talked about their days business. Arwen told him that she was going to teaching several young girls embroidery all morning and he smiled at her. Finally they returned to the Citadel and parted with a kiss to each own duty.

{some time after...}
Aragorn walked into the King and Queen's rooms with his sweet bride on his arm, after their supper in the dining halls with Saeros, and they changed for the evening. He put on a simple pair of leather breeches and wore no shirt, but stood in the chill breeze upon the balcony, sipping a glass of wine and looking upon his city. He glanced at Arwen and smiled, and sat upon the wall, lit his pipe, and puffed at it contentedly.

Arwen changed into her light, almost transparent blue nightdress and a dark blue satin cape against the evining breeze and came to him. She blew a light kiss on his cheek and let him take his arm surround her mid. She watched out over the city and shivered.

Aragorn wrapped his arm about her and held her close to him, his warmth comforting her in the breeze. He bent down and caught the light scent her hair, breathing it in and sighing. He ran his fingers through her tresses and murmured softly in her ear, kissing her there and lightly upon the eyes.

"Melamin," she said and layed her hands upon his chest and let him pull her close to him. The kisses comforted her and she hunted for his lips to kiss him deeply. For a while they remainded quiet, than Arwen looked at him and said: "I thought I lost you. I missed you." Tears raised in her eyes.

He looked down at her and saw the tears well, and he smiled softly, and leant down to kiss them away. Vanimelda! he sighed softly. He sat his pipe down and took her fully in his arms, holding her head near him as he stroked her head and her soft hair. "I am not lost, nor shall I ever be." he pulled her back slightly and lifted her up to kiss her gently upon her soft lips that yearned for his. "I shall remain with thee forever."

She hold him tight and looked him into the eyes. "I take this oath from you, Aragorn."

He pulled her tighter to him and let the scent of him fill her, and kissed her deeply again. They sat there, overlooking the evening across the Pelennor, clasped in each other's arms, until the hour grew late and the time had come for bed.

{After the death of Dindaedel...}
The evening upon which Morsereg had lost his life saw Aragorn and Arwen return to their chambers after an evening about the City, for Aragorn was tired from his long ordeal and eager to be abed.

Arwen assisted Aragorn to get out of his clothes and put them away. She took care that he could lay his broken arm on a thick filled pillow and kissed him good night.

Aragorn kissed her in return, and as they lay there awaiting sleep in each other's arms, he mused "How dear it is to recall those sorrowful days when we might not be together for the father's will, for thinking on all the labour we twain have made to be here this evening only causeth me to love thee the more."

She smiled at him. "Nothing can cause me to love you more than I already do since the day in Lothlorien." She kissed him softly.
